Minotaur (ミノタウロス, Minotaurosu), also known as Minotauros, and known in the first arcade game's localization as Max Minotaur, is the final boss of Madou Monogatari 3.
He is a powerful ox-humanoid-like monster. Loyal to his queen and lady Rulue, he carries out any orders she has for him, no matter how cruel. It is said that the reason Minotaur is so dedicated to her is because she once saved his life when he was trapped in a dungeon.
Biography[]
Madou Monogatari 3[]
He is first shown summoned by Rulue during the opening cutscene of Madou Monogatari 3. Rulue jumps to the wrong conclusion and assumes that Arle is Satan's current wife. She orders Minotaur to kill the girl so that she can be next in line to marry Satan. Minotaur chases Arle, but stops when he sees her entering the Lost Forest, a feared territory of nature monsters that kill any that enter.
Minotaur and Rulue join Arle's party.
During the final stage of the game, Arle invades Rulue's domain, and makes it to the lowest floor. Minotaur is summoned once again, this time to get rid of the intruder. He is defeated by Arle, and after some negotiating, Rulue decides to join Arle in her quest, ordering Minotaur to come with her.
Appearance[]
Minotaur has the physique of muscular human man, with the head of a cow. In the original version, he only had the arms of a human, and the rest of his body was bovine, including hooves for feet. He wears loose pants and a white shirt with a green coat on top. Sometimes his shirt and pants are different colors. He always carries a giant axe. His right eye is missing, and has a scar on top of it.

Minotaur is a loyal warrior, willing to risk his life for his strong sense of duty. After having his life saved by a young Rulue, he has decided to dedicate his life to her. It is sometimes implied that he may have developed strong romantic feelings for his master.
When accompanying Rulue, Minotaur does not speak much, usually only responding when she addresses him. In contrast to this, during battle, he yells loudly and grunts constantly, dramatically announcing every single one of his attacks.

- In Rulue no Tekken Haruyasumi, Minotaur, frustrated at his complete lack of any meaningful appearances since Madou Monogatari 3, directly begs the developers to give him more screen time in future titles. The company would ultimately file for bankruptcy a few years later, leaving his wish ungranted.
