Merkava (メルカヴァ) is a major antagonist and a playable character of the 2D anime fighting game Under Night In-Birth. He was once a man who had fallen into the corruption of a Void, transforming into a Void himself. He desire to consume all of EXS. Due to implied to have eaten Orie Ballardiae's parent, she considered Merkava as her archememy.

He is voiced by Hidenobu Kiuchi in Japanese, who also voiced Nero from One Piece, and Benjamin Diskin in English dub in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, who also voiced Venom from The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Appearance[]

His current appearance is described as a tall, dark skinned humanoid-like creature with long arms and flashing blue markings all over his body. His long arms can transform into tentacles or wings at his own will. He has long white flaming hair that vanishes at its tip.

His former human self appearance is currently unknown.

Personality[]

Just like other Voids, he has the desire to consume all EXS. However, he still retain some fragments of his humanity. Like when he genuinely thanks those who try to reason with him as if he was still human and respects those who are unafraid of him, such as Orie and Chaos. Although he dislikes those who gawk at him such as Hyde.

He usually prefers to stay on the mountains away from the city and spends the daytime mostly by sleeping. He doesn't need to sleep, but he doesn't know any better ways to kill time. During the nighttime, he's focused on hunting for preys.

Whenever he defeats his opponents, he would snatch them and fly up and presumably devour them.
