Mabaya is a rogue elephant and a minor antagonist in the Disney animated TV series The Legend of Tarzan.

Mabaya use to be a member of Jabari's herd, before he went rogue and has been chasing other elephants, making them fear him.
Rogue Elephant[]
Mabaya first appeared in the beginning of the episode and was scaring away a herd of elephants he use to live with, forcing the herd to move into Tarzan's part of the jungle and move in with Tantor's herd as new members. Later on, he was seen invading Tarzan's home and trampled around chasing the elephants and almost getting the gorillas from the trees to fall off. Tarzan battles the giant, despite the lone elephant's massive size. Tarzan managed to fend of Mabaya off for now at least. Meanwhile, Tantor, who had been unconscious, wakes up and finds the damage around the jungle caused by Mabaya. He thinks he did it and has become rogue because Jabari, who Tantor befriended, claimed that certain flowers are what made Mabaya rogue. Jabari, after being informed by his parents that the flowers never make an elephant rogue. So, when he went searching for Tantor to inform his error, he ran into Mabaya. Tantor, thinking he is a vicious rogue elephant, appears sounding vicious. But Jabari informs in that the flowers never made him rogue, Tantor finds out he's in trouble. Mabaya, with his massive strength, knocked Tantor near a cliff, causing him to dangle on the edge, before Tarzan came to the rescue. Unfortunately for Tarzan, Mabaya pins him to a tree, crushing the jungle boy. Jabari encourages Tantor that he has to stop him. Tantor confesses he is a afraid and believes he wouldn't stand a chance. But Jabari reminded him that he chased off four leopard when think he was rogue and wasn't afraid then. Remembering this, Tantor realizes that fear didn't have to hold him back, and figures with confidence that he can stop a rogue elephant. With that, he bravely marched straight to Mabaya and yanked his tail. Maybaya, feeling that. releases Tarzan and took Tantor's interference as a challenge and goes to attack Tantor. But Tantor does not back down. Maybaya charges straight for him, but Tantor, with incredible strength, tosses him near the edge of the cliff, and Tantor allows Tarzan to knock him off. Mayaya fell off and then slid down hill unconscious for a few moments. He wakes up and shakes his head clear and trumpets in anger (probably cursing the heroes), and left.

- Mabaya is the only elephant who never says anything but trumpets and roars.
- He is well recognized by his broken right tusk and glowing red eyes.
- His name means 'evil' in Swahili.
