~ Ozzie's only and last words before being killed by the Janitor. |
Ozzie Ostrich is a supporting antagonist in the 2021 horror thriller film Willy's Wonderland.
He is an animatronic ostrich who was once a friendly children's entertainer and later gets possessed by a serial killer devouring everyone along with Willy Weasel and the other animatronics.
He was portrayed by B. J. Guyer and voiced by Abel Arias who also voiced Tito Turtle in the same film.
Biography[]
Origins[]
As a human, when Ozzie's possessor was just a child, his mother strangled him, damaging his vocal cords and causing him to become mute for the rest of his life. This trauma caused him to become a serial killer when he grew up allegedly killing over twenty female co-eds. He was eventually locked up in a mental asylum where he mostly kept to himself until he was attacked by two male inmates named "Cap'N" and Donnie. The duo attempted to rape him. However, Ozzie killed Donnie and strangled Cap'N to death, only to later be caught by the orderlies and taken to isolation, where he met another deranged inmate Jerry Willis, who befriended him and let him into his circle of friends the "Crazy Eight". Ozzie, along with other killers, escaped from the asylum killing many of the guards and one of the doctors.
Eventually after using a getaway van, they end up in the town of Hayesville, Nevada and found an abandoned building to use as their hideout. In 1996, Ozzie and the rest of the gang turned their hideout into Willy's Wonderland, a family entertainment center which they used as their own personal murder den to secretly kill children and possibly adults (since they don't want to leave any witness). They installed eight animatronics, with Ozzie Ostrich designed and named after Ozzie himself.
Eventually that same year, the authorities grew wise to their murders and schemes. Thus, Jerry and his fellow killers killed themselves in a Satanic suicide ritual before the authorities arrived, preventing them from being captured. After that, their souls had been transferred into the animatronics, including Ozzie.
Ten years later, Willy's Wonderland was reopened by the new owner, Tex Macadoo, to keep the people unaware of this horrific past. Suddenly, Ozzie Ostrich (possessed by Ozzie himself) and the other animatronics had man-eating behaviors to attack, scare, and even devour children. After the children were found dead, traumatized, or seriously injured, Willy's was permanently shutdown once again. However the animatronics continue on a rampage across town killing dozens of people. Although the townsfolk banded together to stop them, their efforts failed and they were thus forced to sacrifice travelers who come into Hayesville to be eaten by the animatronics in exchange for the town's safety.
Willy's Wonderland[]
In the present, the quiet protagonist is hired to be the janitor at the old abandoned Willy's Wonderland to clean everything for the rest of the night so his car's wheels will be fixed by the next morning. After midnight, Ozzie is the first animatronic to become active and goes to attack the Janitor. When Ozzie scratches his cheek, the enraged Janitor pummels the robotic ostrich into the ground with a mop and rips out the endo-like neck, killing Ozzie. After the short fight, the Janitor carries out Ozzie's remains into the garbage bag.

Trivia[]
- Ozzie is creator GO Parsons' personal favorite animatronic.
- Erroneously, Ozzie speaks in the film but according to #3 issue of the prequel comics, Ozzie's possessor is revealed to be mute.
- It's possible that possessing the animatronic gave him the ability to speak, as he is not mute by choice.
- Ozzie is the only animatronic not to be portrayed by a costumed performer, instead being performed via green screened-out puppeteers controlling the body.
- Ozzie was the first animatronic to become active and get killed by the Janitor in the film.
- From Ozzie's reaction to The Janitor's choice to keep fighting after getting scratched, it might be that the animatronics aren't used to a sacrifice who chooses to face them head-on without hesitation.
- Ozzie is the only animal animatronic in the group to be anatomically accurate.
- Besides the people in flashbacks, Ozzie and Gus are the only animatronics who didn't kill any of the human characters since they were the first to be killed by the Janitor.
