Villain Overview

Clayface is a minor antagonist in the 2024 adult animated series Creature Commandos, the first installment of the DC Universe.

He was voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also voiced Doctor Phosphorus in the series, another version of Clayface in Harley Quinn (along with Joker, Calendar Man, and Condiment King in the same series), Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol, Lenny in Ice Age, Iago in the 2019 remake of Aladdin, Turbo in Wreck-It Ralph, the Duke of Weselton in Frozen, Duke Weaselton in Zootopia, Van Wayne in Powerless, and Ludo in Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

Appearance[]

While being capable to shapeshift into any person he wants, Clayface's true form is a large, plump man made of clay, with a wide mouth full of stone like teeth and bright yellow eyes.

Personality[]

Clayface is a cruel criminal and a dedicated actor capable of impersonating one of his victims and taking over her life without anyone suspecting a thing. Once he was discovered, he sadistically fought Rick Flag Sr. and Eric Frankenstein in an almost playful manner, beating the former to a pulp and attempting to kill the latter by suffocating him with his entire body.

Despite his cruelty, he seems to have a soft spot for animals, choosing to take care of MacPherson's cat after killing her. He's also a gamer with a hobby for fighting games, such as Mortal Kombat.

Biography[]

Creature Commandos[]

The details of who he was before his transformation and how he got his powers are unknown, but he managed to become a dangerous supervillain with them. At some point, he became an associate of Pokolistan princess Ilana Rostovic, who was looking for supporters for her plan of world domination.

A few days later, Rostovic was targetted by the amazonian sorceress Circe, who had become aware of her plans. Circe failed to kill the princess thanks to the intervention of the Creature Commandos, a special task force sent by the US. However, Circe managed to convince the Commandos' superior Amanda Waller of Rostovic's threat with the assistance of Themiscyra scholar Professor Aisla MacPherson, and she ordered the Commandos to assassinate the princess. In order to make it all look like a conspiracy against her, Rostovic had Clayface kill MacPherson and impersonate her, knowing the Commandos' team leader Rick Flag Sr., whom she had seduced on his previous visit to Pokolistan, would not believe Circe's claim and investigate MacPherson's testimony. Once he discovered Clayface, Flag would immediately warn her of any upcoming assassination attempt.

Clayface entered MacPherson's home, slit her throat and spent the next day impersonating her as a college professor while Flag and Eric Frankenstein followed him. However, his lack of any actual knowledge of Themiscyra made him give an inapropiate class to the students about the homoerotic implications of an island full of women. After class, Clayface returned to MacPherson's home to play video games until he discovered Flag and Eric were also there. With his cover blown, Clayface attacked the duo, beating Flag to a pulp and breaking his back, and attempting to suffocate Eric with his clay body. However, Frankenstein managed to reach the electrical outlets of Clayface's Xbox and electrocute him, making his body explode.

Clayface's remains were found the next day by Waller and A.R.G.U.S. employee John Economos, convincing Waller to stop the Commandos' operation to assassinate Rostovic.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Metahuman Physiology: Clayface's body has been altered into a grotesque imposing form, granting him shapeshifting and regenerative abilities.
    • Shapeshifting: Clayface can mold, contort and alter his clay-like body into a variety of shapes. He can extend his limbs a considerable distance, and is able to fashion blades, spikes, and massive blocks out of his form. Clayface can also control his size and density, granting him some level of superhuman strength.
    • Superhuman Strength: Clayface's malleable body grants him almost unmatchable physical strength, dominating.

Trivia[]

  • It is unknown which iteration of the character this Clayface actually is.
