The Carnivorous Pink Cloud is a bizarre ghostly phenomena that was sighted around the Tomoka River in Daytona, Florida. As true to it's name, it was observed to consume (or at the very least, dissolve) the flesh of animals. The cloud was blamed for numerous deaths of animals around the Tomaka River as well as some disappearances of the people living nearby.
Biography[]
Theorists have believe that the Cloud might be link to a Native American legend about a man named Chief Tomkie.
The legend goes that Tomkie violated religious practices by stealing a sacred golden cup and using it to drink from a sacred spring. In retaliation, nearby tribes attacked Tomkie's tribe. Tomkie was struck by the arrow of a bow used by Oleeta, a maiden from one of the nearby tribes, who then promptly retrieved the golden cup, but was soon struck by an arrow from Tomkie's tribe. Tomkie's spirit was said to have been cursed to wander the Tomaka River as the Carnivorous Pink Cloud, as punishment for his blasphemous deeds. It's possible that the Cloud has been killing the local wildlife as revenge for his death.
The Pink Cloud has been sighted as far back as 1605, where it was first sighted by a Spanish explorer named Alvaro Mexia.
Trivia[]
- Some alleged sighting described the Cloud as being Orange in color, instead of Pink.
- Some debunkers believe the cloud to being toxic gas or swamp gas that is hazardous to the local wildlife.
