Lott was Morse's previous corrupt superior when he became a novice constable, until Lott being transferred away from Oxford. He is the archenemy of Reginald Bright.
He was portrayed by Danny Webb.
Overview[]
Lott was Bright's predecessor as the Cowley Police Department's leader and a corrupt police officer, serving as Morse's superior when the latter was still a detective constable.
However, Lott was secretly the mastermind behind the Blenheim Vale criminal activities, being the one behind Clive Deare, Charlie Thursday and Alan Jago. He is also one of the sources of corruption in Oxford.
In Endeavour, Lott served as the overarching antagonist of the pilot movie. After that, Lott's remained absent in the series until its final episode, serving as one of the two overarching antagonists of Series 1, 5 and 6 (alongside Clive Deare in the former, Alan Jago in Series 5 and Eddie Nero in Series 6), and the overarching antagonist of Series 2 and 3.
He ultimately made his full return and served as the main antagonist of Series 9, which is the final season. Specifically for the Series 9, Lott serves as the overarching antagonist of its first two episodes and the main antagonist of the third, which is also Endeavour's series finale.

- Before portraying Lott, Danny Webb previously portrayed Tom Pollock in the pilot episode of Lewis.
- Ironically, Lott was responsible for the deaths of two victims that had the surname Lewis, and Andrew Lewis was confirmed to be a relative to Robbie Lewis, the deuteragonist of Inspector Morse and the main protagonist of Lewis.
- Lott is the first and last antagonist seen in the entire series of Endeavour. Therefore, Morse's two confrontations with him had a symbolic meaning had echoed to each other.
- Despite being introduced only in Endeavour, Lott can be considered as one the overarching antagonists of the original Inspector Morse TV series and its sequel Lewis, alongside his bosses - the unseen Freemasonic leaders.
- This is largely because of his role of being Morse's utmost obstacle before his encounter with Hugo De Vries and his transfer to McNutt's station, as well as his role in Lewis' death in the family.
