Noaxson was a rocky moon located in the Outer Rim Territories. It had numerous stars that caused night to fall at irregular intervals, and its surface terrain was occasionally unstable. During the war between the First Order and the Resistance, a group of pirates led by Algron operated on the moon.^[1]

Resistance members Finn and Poe Dameron, choosing the moon due to its features, created a course for the Jedi trainee Rey on Noaxson. While attempting to traverse the training course, Rey fell into the pirates' hideout, where Algron recognized her, intending to contact the First Order and turn her over for the reward.^[1]
