Team Attack Amigo is a stage in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). It is one of the downloadable levels in the game and was released on 20 February 2007 for Xbox 360 on the Xbox Live Marketplace in all regions[1] while the PlayStation 3 version was released in Asia at the same date and in European and PAL regions on 29 November 2007.[2] It became unavailable to download for the Xbox 360 on 29 July 2024, due to the closure of the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Gameplay[]

In Team Attack Amigo, the player plays through a collection of the game's regular action stages as Miles "Tails" Prower, Blaze the Cat and E-123 Omega, with each stage being slightly modified from their original version to accompany each playable character's respective move sets. In each action stage, the player simply needs to reach the Goal Ring to proceed to the next action stage. As Tails, he plays through Crisis City, Radical Train and Kingdom Valley. Blaze will go through Tropical Jungle and Aquatic Base. Finally, Omega will play through Dusty Desert, White Acropolis and then battle the Egg-Genesis. Once defeated, the level will end.

Description[]

Tails[]

Crisis City[]

Team Attack Amigo starts as Miles "Tails" Prower in the first section of Crisis City. As opposed to when Sonic and Shadow go through the section, Tails goes through it backwards, starting at the bottom and climbing uphill, and there are many shortcuts near the edges of the level that allow Tails to move upwards faster.

Radical Train[]

Next, Tails goes through the first section of Radical Train, with the level being a modified version of Sonic's. Much like Sonic's, Tails must press the switch to explode the bombs before the train hits them. If they collide, the level will restart. The middle section where there were originally scales and conveyor belts is now full of only scales, which Tails can use to climb upwards. Like before, there are many Dash Rings around the stage to propel Tails forward.

Kingdom Valley[]

Kingdom Valley places Tails in the first section, and starts him near the end of the area, where he must make his way backwards to the starting platform. Unlike Crisis City and Radical Train, using the Dash Rings are almost required to make it through. Many of the Dash Rings has lasers in them that will stop Tails from using them, and so flying through them must be timed properly.

Blaze[]

Tropical Jungle[]

Blaze's first level is the first section of Sonic's Tropical Jungle. As opposed to using vines to swing across the level, instead there are large chains of springs that will propel Blaze forward.

Aquatic Base[]

Blaze's final level is the second section of Sonic's version Aquatic Base. The area where the player would swap to Knuckles in the original stage is now full of moving platforms that Blaze must use her Accelerator Tornado to traverse through.

Omega[]

Dusty Desert[]

Dusty Desert starts Omega at the top of the ruins of the outdoor portion (where Sonic's Goal Ring normally is), and he must traverse backwards through the level. The level makes liberal use of his Hover ability, and mid-way through, a Warp Hole will teleport Omega from the bottom of the ruins to an open area near the side of the stage, where he must work his way towards a large set of ruins that are behind where Shadow normally starts his version of the stage.

White Acropolis[]

White Acropolis has Omega starting at the middle area where Silver normally would start, however instead of going the usual route, Omega must make his way through the small side tunnel and back around the start to open a case with a switch inside of it that opens the door that leads to where Sonic's version of the stage begins.

Egg Genesis[]

Omega's Egg-Genesis boss fight is similar to Silver's fight to it. The Lock-On Shot is the easiest way to defeat the boss, as it has a long range that will keep Omega safe from the boss' attacks.

Trivia[]

  • Team Attack Amigo has the highest number of Rings in a Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) action stage, having a total of 1852.[3]
  • At the start of the Kingdom Valley portion, there is a place behind the player where they can end the section immediately. However, it is behind an invisible wall that one can barely squeeze through.[4]
  • In the Act Trial select, it is referred as 'TeamAttackAmigo', without the spaces.
  • Tails' maximum running speed is increased for Team Attack Amigo. In the base game, his max running speed is 9 m/s, while in Team Attack Amigo it is 15 m/s.
