Unused Act[]

SonicAdvance2 GBA Map UnusedAct4

Image shows the unused Act 4.

In the main game, there are always three acts: Two main regular acts (Acts 1 and 2) and a boss (Act 3). However, for all zones, there is also another act (Act 4) that was planned was as well and all instances of this use the same foreground and background. These being a single platform with a roof of spikes and a dark blue background.

Unused Feature[]

In Sonic Advance, the game had an option to enable team play when playing in multiplayer modes. This feature was scrapped in this game, but the coding for it still remains in the game's files and can be enabled via hacking. This feature is well completed and teammates can interact with each other. Code for team-specific character actions is left over from the previous game, though partially functional.

  • Sonic's team action (boosting teammates with his Spin Dash) works as intended.
  • Tails' and Knuckles' team actions (carrying teammates while flying/gliding) will cause their teammate to be stuck in the air with no way to control them.
  • Amy's team action (catapulting teammates upward with her Piko Piko Hammer) doesn't function at all.
  • Cream has no team action coded for her.

Graphical glitches will also occur on the results screen for players from one team who win, but not for players from the other team who lost.

The trai. In this game, the idea was dropped yet the coding for it still exists within the game's files and can be enabled via hacking.ler.

Upon the release of Sonic Mega Collection in late 2002, a short trailer for Sonic Advance 2 were found in the game's extras menu. The footage is from an early version of the game, which holds a few differences.
