The Sky Temple Zone boss[note 1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a hovering mech controlled by Dr. Eggman, respectively Eggrobo, during the Northstar Islands incident.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The Sky Temple Zone boss is a hovering mech with a green and gray color scheme. It consists of a modified Egg Mobile, which is encircled by a green armor. Other enhancements include two silver and yellow cannons that fire projectiles, as well as a fan attached to the lower part of mech.

Features and abilities[]

The Sky Temple Zone boss is shown to be capable of hovering in the air for prolonged periods of time. It is also very powerful, as it was able to shatter stone structures, as well as being able to spin. The boss is equipped with two cannons firing yellow projectiles and a fan that can also destroy stone bricks easily.

History[]

Sonic Superstars[]

In Sonic Superstars, the Sky Temple Zone boss is one of the machines used by Dr. Eggman during the Northstar Islands incident. It was used to fight against Sonic and his friends in Sky Temple Zone. However, it was eventually destroyed by the heroes.

During Trip's Story, Eggrobo would use a rebuilt version of the mech in order to fight Trip, but similar to the original, it was destroyed.

Weaknesses[]

Although the Sky Temple Zone boss is equipped with many different abilities, it is still vulnerable to attacks at all times, except while spinning.

Battle[]

The Sky Temple Zone boss is the boss of Sky Temple Zone, as well as the fifth boss overall in Sonic Superstars. It is fought by Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Trip.

Boss guide[]

When first encountering the Sky Temple Zone boss, it will destroy the stone bridge the player is standing on, thus triggering a free falling section, where the player will have to survive incoming projectiles from the machine. Afterwards, the mech will once again shatter a stone bridge, as well as releasing its fan, chasing the player in an vertical section until they reach the top. By hitting the boss two times (three in Trip's Story), the boss will enter phase two, repeating the attack patern from the previous phase, with the only difference being that more yellow projectiles are released.

After the boss is hit four times (six in Trip's Story), the boss will enter its third phase, gaining the ability to spin and then crash into one of the stone platforms. By hitting two more times (or three in Trip's Story), the boss will be defeated.

If available, the player can use Emerald Powers, such as Avatar or the Super transformation, in order to attack the boss during the free falling section, as touching the boss during this section is always considered a hit.
