Samba Studios (サンバスタジオ[1] Sanba Sutajio?, lit. "Samba Studio") is the second track of the Dragon Cup in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, representing Samba de Amigo.

Description[]

This track is set in various film studios based in Carnival Town. Throughout the race, Sega's colorful cast of racers speed through the sets of many movie themes, such as pirates, a jungle movie not unlike King Kong, a western set, a city, and even a 50's Sci-Fi set. As they draw closer to the finish line, the racers will boat across an orange lava-like substance.

Overview[]

The race starts in a movie theater, going to the left for a long time to get the player on the bridge above. At the exit, the player will transform into boat mode to swim in jungle-like water for a while. Back in car mode, a fork will appear. The left route is the main one. The right one on the other hand is the shortcut, but contains five cactus-like dancers showing up as hazards. At the halfway point, both routes will intersect each other. When the airlock door opens, the player will transform into boat mode again to swim in lava-like water. Afterwards will be a curve that almost forms a question mark before one last transformation and the finish line.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second Samba de Amigo course to be set in a studio. The first is Studio Amigo from the DS and Mobile versions of the first game.
  • Samba de Amigo characters can be found among the locals in this race course. Bingo, Bongo, Chumba and Wumba can be found within the enclosed movie studio at the beginning, while Linda can be found dancing at the doorway into the outer space/lava section. The two remaining Samba De Amigo characters, Amiga and Rio, are absent.
  • The music for this course is a remix of "Vamos a Carnaval" from Samba de Amigo. This is one of the only non-classic courses in which the music does not change during different vehicle segments.
  • The pre-race flyover for this course is accompanied by a remix of "Bienvenido a Samba de Amigo" from the same game.
