The Caterkiller is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. It is a caterpillar-based robot model created by Dr. Eggman.[1]

Appearance[]

Caterkillers are based on real-life caterpillars, both in shape and in the way they move across the ground, stretching their body parts up and down to crawl. Their body in particular consists of four spherical segments with curved yellow spikes on the sides. They also have two antennae located at the tip of their heads. They are mainly pink in color, with white fangs and red tongues in their mouths and tan underbellies, and the tops of their antennae are yellow. They also have two cartoonish black eyes.[1]

History[]

Shogaku Ninensei[]

When captured by Dr. Eggman in a metal "Sonic Holder", Sonic was taunted by the Caterkiller, leading to him lunging at the robot in anger. However, the Caterkiller easily stabbed Sonic with one of its side spikes, causing him much pain, but also breaking the Sonic Holder. Now free of his restraint, Sonic performed a Rolling Attack on the Caterkiller, breaking it apart.[1]

Powers and abilities[]

In addition to possessing sharp fangs, the Caterkiller possesses four pairs of side spikes, each of which is strong enough to cut through metal.[1]
