To A Dear Friend

Time for a new challenge at Time Out! Challenge #233 starts today and runs through March 15th. This time we are challenged to be ELEGANT.  We are generously sponsored by Altenew. Challenge winner will receive a $25 gift voucher to the Altenew Store.

We welcome Nora Noll of A Creative Touch and winner of Time Out #230 as our Guest Designer. Nora's blog is full of colorful, creative and fun inspiration. Do treat yourself to a visit and leave her some love.

My card was created with Altenew supplies. I am channeling my inner Michele Ferguson with the loose watercoloring (especially the gray) and the Altenew Slim Label Die with the sentiment.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

From The Bottom Of My He{art}

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by World Art Day, which takes place on April 15th. The challenge runs from April 1st to April 11th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I used Paper Smooches I Heart Art stamps and Easel and Paint Palette dies. I stamped the paint tube image down the left side of a Tim Holtz water color panel using my MISTI, and water colored them with Inktense Watercolor Pencils. I die cut the palette and filled it with rainbow colors and popped it up with foam tape. I die cut the easel, stamped one of the sentiments on the "paper" and popped it up with foam tape. I added a few splashes and my card was complete.
I used watercolor paper, paint splats, easel, primary colors and watercolor pencils from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

Your Friendship Is Everything

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something just using three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of International Friendship day, which take place on August 1st.  The challenge runs from  July 9th - July 19.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. This one is so easy that it's hard in a way, to choose supplies, sentiments, recipient, etc.

I decided to use a floral image for my card. I chose Altenew's Weekend Doodles stamps and dies. To create some interest in the background and to ground my floral image, I stamped two triple stripe images from PTI Background Basics Super Stripes. I colored the floral image with Inktense pencils, die cut it and popped it up over the stripes with foam tape. The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio Starburst Circles. It is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear EP. I added a few sequins, and my card was complete! I used Friendship sentiment, pink, rhinestones (sequins) from the Inspo List.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the Inspo List for your creation!

Friends Like Us

The theme over at Inspired By Challenge is "Heart Your Cat-titude". I love these cat-themed images from Waffle Flower's Flora Cat Play stamp set. When I saw this challenge, I pulled out the stamp set and my Zigs and voila! Is that little mouse the cutest?

Joy

Time Out Challenge #153 began last week with a really fun theme. I am here to remind you that there is still time to play. The challenge is to create a project inspired by an item in your wardrobe! It can be a dress, a top, a scarf, a handbag, any item goes! It can be something current, or something you remember from the past. As an optional twist, you can add embossing (heat or dry) or texture to your project.

Our Guest Designer is Lise Mariann who is a very talented designer and who has made two fantastic cards for this challenge. Please visit her blog and check out her awesome art work!

Poppy Stamps is our generous sponsor for this challenge.

As I was putting Christmas things away and pondering what my card would be like, I decided to use this wonderful scarf (above) as my inspiration before retiring it until next December. I die cut our generous sponsor's Poinsettia Circle Frame from a green watercolored panel and "paper pieced" it with another watercolored panel and gold foil cardstock. I watercolored the holly berries with Zigs, and added white dots with a gel pen.

I loved my idea, though I must say the whole process of making this card frustrated me to no end. I decided to post it anyway, but if you look closely, you can see some dried glue blobs on the black card base, and that makes me crazy. I made a previous attempt and used Nuvo drops for the berries. There were lots of pointy blobs and a multitude of swear words uttered. It was one of those creations that took me an insane amount  of time and I wanted to cry several times, but we learn a lot from failures, so here it is. I hope your project is much more fun and satisfying. LOL.

Please hop on over to the Time Out Blog to see the wonderful creations that our Design Team came up with. I really love the idea of taking inspiration from a wardrobe piece, and my teammates have done a fantasdtic job. Come play with us!

Hi

Time Out Challenge #144 is up and running. This time it's a Home Sweet Home Challenge: a photo inspiration challenge with a homey twist!

Our wonderful sponsor is Poppy Stamps. Challenge winner will receive a gift voucher from Poppy Stamps

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the incredibly talented Desert Diva Hannelie. I highly encourage you to treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. Her creations are awesome. Don't miss this opportunity to be inspired, and please leave her some love.

Here is a larger image of the photograph. If you look very carefully, there are many elements that you may not see upon first look!

When I spotted the pillow on the couch that is third from the left, I immediately thought of The Gossip Column: Geometric Generation Digital Elements - a freebie I downloaded from Winnie and Walter. I used that for the background of my card. I wanted to pick up something that was not so obvious in the photo. If you look on the shelf behind the couch, there is a sculpture of a pink hand and next to it, a little glass vase with a piece of greenery in it. When I saw that, I knew just what I would do. The wonky circle is from MFT. The hand is from Hands by Julie Ebersole, Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies and the greenery from Flora and Fauna Terrarium Cluster Dies.

Let's Celebrate

Time Out Challenge #143 is up and running. This time, we are challenged to be inspired by the words: "It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow". Our wonderful sponsor is Winnie and Walter. Challenge winner will receive a $25.00 gift voucher for the Winnie and Walter store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Arlene of Sundaystamper Papercrafts. Arlene is a very talented paper crafter with a CAS style. Do treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. Her creations are wonderful. Don't miss this opportunity to be inspired, and please leave her some love.

To create my card, I concentrated on the word rainbow. I painted rainbow colors on a piece of watercolor card stock, die cut it with a die from Winnie and Walter's Goldie Trim Cutaways, and mounted it on a piece of linen cardstock die cut with a Lawn Fawn scalloped rectangle die. To finish it off. To complete it, I added a sentiment from Winnie and Walter's The Party

I Forgot!

Hello! And Happy New Year!

I am so very excited and honored to announce, that I have joined the Less is More Design Team! Woot!!  This is my first post as a LIM Designer. When I first began blogging, I was all about the layers and embellishments. When The Less Is More Challenge first opened, I had never tried and was quite terrified of CAS design. I began to play, and as time went on, I got the hang of it and fell in love. Now it is largely my cardmaking style.  I am so happy to be part of this amazing team of crafters. Here we go!

Water in any of its forms...ice, snow, mist, liquid...

Our sponsor is

Our Guest Designer is our October 2018 winner: Viv of Daizy-Mae's Crafty Blog. Viv's designs and coloring skills are fantastic! Treat yourself to a visit to her blog. You will be so glad you did.

For my card, I used Hero Arts Enjoy the Journey stamps and dies to make this punny belated birthday card. I created the water with Hero Arts Dark Teal Liquid Watercolor. I stamped the ship on watercolor paper, colored it with Zigs, die cut, and placed it on the watercolor background in the aperture.

Please head on over to the Less Is More Challenge Blog, see the awesome creations the Design Team has created for your inspiration, and come play wiith us! All challenge details are available on the HERE.

Sparkle This Christmas

The December Challenge is up and running at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge. The theme is Anything Goes, and the twist is: SNOW. For my card, I used a die cut panel that I had created previously with Distress Oxide Inks and shimmery watercolors. I made the Alicia Snowflake from SSS the star of the show cutting it from blue glitter paper and centering it in the aperture. I stamped a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Let It Snow on a banner cut from MFT's Die-namic Fishtail Flags STAX.

Please head over the to Happy Little Stampers December Christmas Challenge and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration.
