Siege on Evergreen Terrace is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #55.
Plot[edit]
During a heatwave, the Simpson family are at the beach but are forced to evactuate as Mr. Burns and Smithers are playing a real-life version of Battleship. Later that day, a construction man arrives at the Simpson house to build a swimming pool. Homer initially denies buying a pool but then goes along with it when he learns it is actually intended for the Flanders family.
When the pool is finally built, it becomes crowded with the townspeople. Ned Flanders notices that his pool hasn't been built yet and the construction workers realize that Homer must have stolen it from Flanders. The workers inform Homer they will be getting rid of his pool but Homer gets Herman to provide him with a barbed wire fence to barricade the workers out. However, this also means that the pool's visitors are trapped in the Simpsons' garden. The townspeople agree to guard the pool with the help of Herman's military equipment while the construction workers retaliate by cutting off the power supply and playing 80s pop music. Milhouse is sent to tunnel for supplies.
Conveniently for the workers, a militia is right next to them and they successfully break down the barricade. The townspeople escape while the head construction worker prepares to kill the Simpson family with a plow truck. However, he changes his mind and concedes defeat. Moments later, a sinkhole created by Milhouse's misdirected tunnelling causes the pool and half of the Simpson house to collapse. Homer is left to clean up the mess.
