Hans Rosling (27 July 1948 – 7 February 2017)[1][2] was a Swedish medical doctor, academic, statistician, and public speaker.
He was the Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institutet[3] and was the co-founder and chairman of the Gapminder Foundation. He helped develop the Trendalyzer software system. He rose to international fame after producing a TED Talk[4] in which he promoted the use of data to explore development issues.[5]
Rosling died on 7 February 2017 in Uppsala, Sweden from pancreatic cancer, aged 68.[5]
