Spooky fun Halloween scene!

Hey there Friends! Happy October! I was so excited to make my first Halloween card of the season since I got to play with some fun new goodies from the Stampin'Up! The Spooky Fun Photopolymer Bundle gave me the spooky scene I was looking for with the pumpkins, tree and the witch!

Here's some other close ups for you:

For my gray sky background, I used the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  Hope you like it!  Thanks for coming by - hope you're inspired to do some Halloween crafting! :)

Sneak peek of Stampin'Up!'s new In Colors!

Happy Monday, blog friends! Hope you all had a great weekend.  I have a quick share of the pretty new In Colors that will be available in Stampin'Up!'s upcoming 2016-2017 catty. How yummy do these look?!  I paired these pretty butterflies with the coordinating ruched ribbon, which is even prettier in person!  I love making these mini clothespins - so easy to make and they instantly cutify whatever you clip them to!  I just used a glue dot to adhere the butterflies onto the clothespins and viola, instant cuteness!

Here's a look at the cardstock and coordinating markers:

These lovely colors are Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim.  Hope you like them! The new catalog is just a few weeks away...it will be available on June 1st!

Have a great day and thanks for popping by!

Christmas tags and Stampin'Up!'s Online Extravaganza!

Hello all!  How are you? I know it's been ages since my last post, so thanks for bearing with me and visiting my blog. Life has been busy, but all is good. I will catch up with you guys with some pics and highlights from the last few months soon. I do have a couple of Christmas tags to share today. I was really excited to be in my craft room, although I admit I felt a little out of practice. After some trial and error, these fun tags are what I came up with while I was playing with these fun Delicate Ornament Thinlit dies. Here are a couple more pics for you:

Aren't these ornaments so pretty? I love how they look using the red and gold foil sheets - they look like you can hang them right on your tree! For the tag base, I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch and then just dressed up the tags with Cherry Cobbler twine, Real Red Pom Pom trim, and Gold and White 3/8" Glitter Ribbon. Hope these inspire you to get your Christmas crafting on!

But wait - there's more! Did you know that Stampin'Up!'s Online Extravaganza starts TODAY?! You can shop the sale HERE and you can check out the list of items here.

There's lots of great items on sale for gift giving as well as for your own personal crafting stash! :)  It's definitely worth checking it out!

Now, for those of you who've been wondering what I've been up to these past few months, I have been crafting here and there, but family and my day job have taken the priority. Things have been quite busy on all fronts for me, so with the time that I have, I've focused in on my life priorities, which I know you all can understand. While my presence has been limited here on the blog-o, I have been posting on Instagram and Tumblr, just because it's been easier to post and share some quick pics. I can really appreciate how precious time is these days, especially when it seems like it's such a limited commodity for me...so I share when I can.  :) Feel free to follow me there or check out the links every now and again.

I'll leave you with some pics from my recent trip to Japan - it was an amazing trip with the hubs.  These shots are from Kyoto at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. All in all, I was inspired and awestruck by the beautiful country and wonderful people.

Well, all, thanks so much for dropping by today and checking in. My dear friend Norma at PinkBlingCrafter has challenged me to post at least once a week, so I am taking her up on that and will try to do a little more.  Catch up with you all soon!

Mini coffee cups decked out in Sale-a-bration!

Hey there, blog friends! I've got a fun share today. I've had these mini coffee cups for quite a while now and can you believe I had not gotten around to creating anything with them yet?  Well, I finally decided it was time to bring them out and decorate them in the finest of 2015 Sale-a-bration DSPs! And, I think they turned out pretty cute, don't you? ;)

So, I can't take credit for the mini coffee cup pattern - I actually got that from Jill Coleman's blog.  I also ordered these 4 oz coffee cups from the webstaurantstore.com. I used the pattern Jill created, though I did have to tweak a little and trim a teenie bit off the bottom after I adhered the DSP to the cups.  The pattern definitely makes it easy peasy to dress up the cute plain little cups. {Thanks, Jill!}

What I did create was the carrier, which is actually, just a reboot of the carrier I created for the milk cartons on this post, with the only difference being the measurements.  Are you ready?:

You'll need:
*2 pieces of 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" cardstock  for the carrier base
*1 piece of 5 1/2" x 2 3/8" cardstock for the center handle

1. Score the 2 pieces of cardstock at 1" all the way around.  Then cut to the 1" scoreline at the creases along the 3 3/4" edge.
2. Assemble the base and glue together using the Tombow Multi-Purpose glue.  Set aside to dry.
3. For the 5 1/2" x 2 3/8" piece of cardstock, punch the handle using the hexagonl punch.
4.  Assemble the carrier by placing the handle in between the 2 base boxes and gluing together using the Tombow Glue.

5.  Embellish the carrier with DSP or cardstock.  I used  2 pieces of 3/4" x 7 1/8" DSP to decorate the base.  Score the pieces at 4 3/8", and then 6 5/8".  for the handle, I cut out 2 pieces of 2 1/8" x 5 1/4" DSP and adhered one piece at a time and punched the handle after adhering each one to the base handle piece, otherwise it gets too hard to punch!

And here's another look at the whole Mini Coffee Cup and Carrier ensemble:

Ta da! I would love to hear what you think!  Not only is this project really fun to make, these little cuties would make great teacher gifts or co-worker gifts for Valentine's day! I definitely encourage you to give it a whirl.

Thanks for popping over to visit.  Enjoy your day!

Hearts and butterflies birthday card

Hi there, blog friends. I have finally gotten some time to stamp and play a bit more with my new Occasions and Sale-a-bration goodies!  Though, I have a confession to make. I was going through a bit of creativity block trying to come up with a card design. Do you ever get that feeling of having so many ideas in your mind that you don't know where to begin?  Top that off with being a little rusty from not crafting as frequently as I'd like to and that's exactly how I felt. I had a lot of stops and starts before I was finally able to design a card that I was excited about!

This is not a typical color palette for me, but one of my influences for this navy and reddish-pink {Night of Navy and Rose Red, to be exact} combo was because I've had France on the brain. I wanted to pay respects to the French in my own little way for the recent tragedies they experienced. So, this is where the inspiration came for the card, and I'm really pleased with how it came out.

The Butterflies Thinlits dies are so pretty, that I had lots of fun die cutting a bunch out of different colored cardstock to see how they looked!  (This diversion definitely helped in getting my creative juices flowing!) Despite their very intricate appearance of the die, these thinlits are really easy to work with.  The main tip here about die cutting with this amount of image detail is to use a layer of wax paper between the cardstock and the die and the die will easily peel right off! Now, let's take a look at the background, shall we? I love the look of those dots. I basically double stamped the dots to get the lighter shading of Rose Red.

Here's a closer look:

I love that one of the symbolic meanings of the butterfly is that it represents "new life." It makes me happy to create cards keeping that in mind :)  I'll defnitely get a lot of use for these thinlits!

Here's a list of the supplies I used for your reference.  Note that the items shown as $0.00 are Sale-a-bration items, which means that you can earn the item for free with a $50 purchase. Not bad, huh?  You can take a peek and shop at my online store if you'd like. You can also click on any of the items below to get to the store, too  :)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles {birthday card!}

Who's a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?!  Well, apparently lots of kids are!  Today, we attended a friend's son's birthday party and he's all about the turtles.  So, I couldn't help but oblige and make him a Leonardo card.  It was a great challenge for me, since I haven't seen the latest movie or shows (my little guy is not quite into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles yet).  Lucky for me there's Pinterest and the whole interweb to help guide me with some images and themes.  After doing my research, I came up with this fun little flip card for our friend Bryce who just turned 5!

I used the Thinlits Circle Card to create the Basic Black cardstock base.  Then I used the Honeycomb embossing folder to create my Old Olive layer that I added on top of the base.  For the sewer whole, I used the Circle Framelits and Chevron embossing folder.

Then, on the inside of the card, I created my Leonardo turtle!  So easy, thanks to the Circle and Oval framelits! For his mask, I cut out an extra circle in Night of Navy and then just hand cut it and laid it on top of the green circle.  I used scraps from the Night of Navy circle to make the ties. Fun tip: Use the banner punch to make the perfect ends on the tails! For the sentiment, I used the Age Awareness stamp set and cut it out with the banner framelit from the Thinlits Circle card. And last but not least, of course, I had to personalize the card! For that, I used the Little Letters Thinlits, which I just LOVE.  Viola!

Here's one last look at the card.  Aren't these flip cards great? Hope this has inspired you to make some ninja turtles.  They are pretty fun and easy to make!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's World Cardmaking Day 2014!

Hi there blog friends! Today is World Card Making Day, so I wanted to share a few cards with you to get you inspired for Halloween, which is coming soon! I created these cards using the stamps and embellishments from the September Paper Pumpkin kit and supplementing with additional cardstock.   Don't you just love these stamps?  The Paper Pumpkin kit actually came with 6 cute burlap bags, embellishments, tags, a Tangelo Twist stamping spot, and a cute selection of Halloween images and sentiments.  Super adorable kit!  Now how about a closer look at these projects?

I created 2 quick and simple Halloween cards and this cute pouch!  I love the embossing folders - they totally dress up the cards with minimal effort. I also like how just a little bit of sequins goes a long way!

Here's a look at the burlap pouch.  Who wouldn't want to get this cute treat?  The Paper Pumpkin kit came with 3 of these polka dotted pouches and 3 striped ones so you can make 6 of these adorable treats and embellish with sequins, black twine, clothespins and assorted tags.  I love the surprise I get each month with the Paper Pumpkin kits.  The projects are always adorable and timely! If you'd like to get a surprise kit each month, you can find out more and subscribe here. You can also check out more projects on Pinterest and get some awesome inspiration using the September kit here.

For this card, I used the tags and stamps from the Paper Pumkpin kit and then used a Tangelo Twist card base.  Then, I embossed Basic Black cardstock with the Lucky Stars embossing folder from the Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog. The pretty orange sequins from the Paper Pumpkin kit adds just a touch of bling yet keeps the card clean and simple.

This card is even simpler! No layers needed - just emboss with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder, add the sentiment and tags with just a smidge of sequin and viola! You get a fun little Halloween card ready to send!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create a card for World Card Making Day!

Bad Piggie Birthday

Happy Monday, blog friends!  Hope you guys had a great 4th of July weekend!  I had a very nice and relaxing one...though it sure did go by quick!  I've got a birthday card share today - it's the birthday card I created for my God son's Bad Piggie themed birthday party.  I knew I wanted to create a punched out piggie as soon as I found out the theme.  This was so much fun to make!  Lots of circles, as you can see.  I used the Circle Framelits along with an assortment of circle punches.  The eyes and nostrils actually came from the SU! Owl Punch.  I also used the owl "feet" for the balloon stems. That Owl punch definitely worked overtime on this card!

Here's a couple more pictures for you...
For the background, I used the Large Circles embossing folder, which is one of the NEW embossing folders in the SU Catty.  I just love these big circles!
Hope you liked this little card!  Here's the recipe for you:

{Bad Piggie BIRTHDAY FUN}!
Stamp Set: Endless Birthday Wishes
Cardstock: Lost Lagoon, Gumball Green, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White, Basic Black, Retired DSP scraps
Accessories: Large Circle Embossing folder, Circle Framelits, 3/4" circle punch, 1" circle punch, Owl Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes (retired) circle punch, Petite Pennants Builder punch,
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Lost Lagoon
Thanks for visiting today. I wish you all a great week! By for now!

Hi all! I've got another fun video to share with you today - it's on the Greeting You Simply Created Card Kit that really makes card giving super quick and easy!

I also wanted to share some not so great news for me - I'm currently without my personal laptop. :(  So sad to report that it was stolen this week while I was on a work trip.  Needless to say, it's put a little bit of a snag on my ability to post and edit pictures for my blog.  I'm hoping that I can be up and running in a week or so, but will keep you posted on the progress.

In the meantime, I appreciate you bearing with me.  Hope you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for popping by and I'll see catch up with you all soon.

Happy June! Blog hop time for SU's New catty + BLOG CANDY!

Hi friends! Happy June to you all! I'm excited to welcome you to the the first Crafty Paper Confectionista's Blog Hop for the Stampin'Up! New Catty, which you will be able to view and order from starting June 2 at noon.  AND, don't miss out on the Blog Candy at the bottom of the post!  For a chance to win, all you have to do is leave me a comment and following my blog by midnight on June 2nd! You can follow my blog with Bloglovin or from Google Friend Connect. Easy peasy, right?!  Good luck to you!

I'm the first stop and today I'm sharing the Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp Set available in the 2014-2015 Stampin'Up! catalog and using In Colors card stock for the background.  For this first card the background is Hello Honey and I colored the pretty bloom with the Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities marker sets.  If you look closely, you'll see there are a 5 rhinestones in the center that I also colored in with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.  Isn't that cool?  That's one of the features with the Blendabilities markers - since they're alcohol based, you can use them to color in the rhinestones, pearls, and buttons to match or coordinate with your projects.  So fun!

Here's a closer look at the bloom and the rhinestone center:

I used two of the three Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities markers - the darkest one closest to the flower center and the middle tone for the rest of the flower.  One last look at the card, glistening out in the sunshine.  I love how this flower pops against the Hello Honey background.  Such a Happy and cheery card!

Here's another card I created using the Lost Lagoon card stock as the card base.

For this card, I used another flower image in Bloom with Hope stamp set and also used the new Lullaby DSP.  I added some texture to the card by embossing it with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  I colored in these sweet flowers with the Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities markers AND I also colored in the pretty Vintage Faceted button, too!

What I love about the Blendabilities markers is that they truly add dimension to the image - I also discovered that I really enjoy coloring these images in and watching them come to life as I add color or shading to the images.  You can see that I used a darker marker in the Daffodil Delight family around the center of the flower.  By coloring in a circular motion, you are able to blend the colors more seamlessly.

Here are the recipes for both cards:

{Happy Birthday Bloom}
Cardstock: Hello Honey, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Bloom with Hope
Inks: Black Memento Ink, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
Accessories: Deco Labels Framelits, Banner Framelits, Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Sequin Trim
{Congratulations Happy Flowers}
Cardstock: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Bloom with Hope
Inks: Black Memento Ink, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities
Accessories: Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Banners Framelits, Deco Label Framelits, Linen Thread, Vintage Faceted Button, Gold Sequin Trim, Banner Punch; Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive Blendabilities, Lullaby DSP
