Kirby's Avalanche, known in Europe as Kirby's Ghost Trap, is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System game released in 1995 by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory. It was a reskin of Super Puyo Puyo, the Super Famicom version of Compile's Puyo Puyo.
Story[]
There is a avalanche tournament that Kirby wants to win.
Gameplay[]
It is the same goal as Puyo Puyo, but the text is shown in English instead of Japanese and the characters were made from Kirby to more appeal to Western audiences. The 1P vs 2P mode requires 2 controllers and the copyright notices include Compile from the 1992 Puyo Puyo plus Banpresto, Nintendo, and HAL Laboratory, the latter two were from virtually every game in the Kirby series. Puyos are known to be Blobs.
2 Blobs will be scrolling down and they can be rotated 90 degrees. If at least 4 blobs of the same color are shown, they will explode. If the 3rd column has 12 blobs already, then the game is over. The player could perform chain reactions to crash down avalanches on their opponent. Garbage Blobs are referred to Avalanches hence their video game title.
There are 3 types of gameplay, Competition, 1P vs 2P, and Practice. They are shown as text on the menu screen. There is another option on the menu screen that reads "OPTIONS", in which the player can choose to change the options by controller assignment, number of rounds, computer difficulty, input test, and custom, the latter includes control whether or not to use sweat and also perform music tests.

- Likely due to being a reskin of Super Puyo Puyo, which was already popular at the time of this video game's release and had its sequel already half a year before the video game's release date, Kirby's Avalanche never had a Japanese release.
