Social networking is part of the game interface where you can visit your friends when you visit your friends you will see the location that you are in, for example if you're in Ponyville then you will see your friends Ponyville so if you wish to see your friends Canterlot you must travel to Canterlot first, but you can't travel to your friends location if they haven't unlocked the location you want to travel, for example, you're in Crystal Empire and want to travel to your friends Crystal Empire, but your friend haven't unlocked that location, instead you will travel to Ponyville.
You can leave a Treasure Chest in their location and send gifts to them. You can also invite friends who don't play the game in either Facebook and by inviting a certain amount of friends you can earn Gems 
. This is where you can receive Hearts 
in the "Inbox" menu from your friends. Friends, Invites and Friend news are accessible via Wifi.
