~ Sunburst Granny Square

Have you ever seen a square like this before? I was so inspired when I first saw it and couldn't help myself trying it right away! It came out so beautiful! It also has a cheerful name: "Sunburst Granny Square"!

You can find how to make it HERE. This is very fast, easy and fun to make! Go and check out the site, you may love other pretty patterns offered for free!

I just intended to try the pattern so see how it comes out. But after I finished the first square, I just couldn't stop, so I made one more, just one more,..., and I have 4 for the first try! I need to keep working on my current granny square blanket and other WIPs, so I will save this pattern for a baby blanket I'm going to make when my first blanket is all done. Making granny squares is so addicted, isn't it? ;)

Thank you for stopping by. Wishing everyone a happy day!! ♥

BIG Project Started!

It's a granny square blanket. My first REALLY BIG project.

I have dreamed of a granny square blanket for a couple of years. I tried some granny square patterns before but not for blanket. It's so BIG and may take me years to finish... But I'm terribly inspired by so many talented ladies making their blankets, from ripples, squares, to hexagons, flowers,..., they are all adorable! So, took a deep breath (just as I was so excited! :)), I was headed to the craft store over the weekend and took home some more lovely yarns:

I decided to use the granny square pattern from Lucy at Attic24. It's so beautiful and caught my heart right  the first time I saw it. But it's most wonderful when I'm making it myself! Oh my Gosh, if only I know how amazing to make these sooner!

How cute to start from these lovely circles:

to bigger ones...

... turn them to these squares...

...from bigger and hot one...

and cooler one...

...to these!!! Here is how my blanket looks when it's finished! I've not yet counted how many squares for my blanket in total, it must be a lot!!! Well, still have a lot of work ahead, but attractive work, don't you think so?! :)

The more making these granny squares, the more I get addicted! I just love to take this basket when I get home from work every day! Happiness comes from just such little things!!!

Thank you all my bloggy friends for your time and words of encouragement always, you know how much it means to me!! ♥

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful rest of the week!

~ Much love, LS ~

P.S: I just realized I did post a drafted post (I fell asleep in front of my computer last night, urrrgh...) but you are so kind to leave such sweet comments. I just completed this and am so sorry for the silly confusion!

Crochet Keychain: Pattern

Hello, hello, how is everyone doing? I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!

Thank you very much for your lovely words on the keychains in my previous post, just simple stuff but you liked it and that made me so happy!

Some of you wondered if I could share the pattern - of course! I'm so glad to do that!
Here you are:

* The oval:
Chain 36.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc into the same chain, sc in next 34 chs, 3 sc in next ch, working on opposite side
of foundation chain, sc in next 34 ch, 2 sc in the last ch. Join with slip stitch to the first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same stitch, sc in next 34 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 34 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc. Join with slip stitch to the first sc.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc into the same sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 34 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 34 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc. Join with slip stitch to the first sc. Leave a length of tail.

Fold the oval with wrong side facing, sew along the edge. Fasten off.

* Little flower:
Make a magic circle, ch 1, *sc through the loop, ch 3, 2 dc through the loop, ch 3. Repeat from * 5 more times, join to the first sc. You have 6 petals for the flower. Do not fasten off, make a chain of 15-16 st (or your desired length) and join with slip stitch through the loop. Close circle tight, knot and secure. Leave a length of tail for sewing to the top of the oval.

You're done! Very quick and so easy!

Happy creating!

Bicycle and Flowers...

Hello everyone!

Not much to post about today, I just pop in to say "Hi" to you all! I'm still around, but have been so bad in updating my blog the last few weeks. I just have too many distractions at the moment...

I found this lovely bicycle back when cleaning my house over the weekend. A friend gave it to me about tens years ago, it's handmade with a kind of wood which I don't know its name. Just love it. Some tiny flowers to put in the basket in the front is not a bad idea, right? ;-)

Just a cute bicycle, some little flowers which brought me the hook, would make me happy enough!

Wishing your days are always wonderful and delightful...!!! See you soon!

Lots of love, ♥

Rose Brooch Pattern

After I made this rose brooch and attached it into a hat in my earlier post, some firends have asked me for the pattern. I found this pattern in chart form somewhere on internet and could not remember the source, so I reprinted it in written term here just in case you need.
Rose pattern:

Chain 75.

Row 1: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same ch, 2 sc in the next ch, 1 hdc and 1 dc in the next ch, 2 dc in each of the next 4 chs, *1 dc in the next ch, 2 dc in the next ch. Repeat from * until the last 3 chs, 1 dc in the next ch, 2 hdc in the next ch, 1 sc in the last ch. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st, 1 hdc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, sc in the next st. *2 hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st. Repeat from * 2 more times. 2 hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, 2 dc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, sc in the next st. **2 hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, 2 dc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 dc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, sc in the next st. Repeat from ** 3 times. 2 hdc in the next st, 2 dc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 hdc in the next st, sc in the next st. 1 hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, 2 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, slip stitch to the last st.
Weave yarn and shape into a rose and secure in to place.

I sewed a brooch pin in the back of the rose and attach it into a hat, I love the way it matches the hat! Or you can sew it into your hat directly, it will come out lovely I beleive!

Take care and all the best! xxx

Missing Crochet and Blogging

Hi everyone! How are you? It's been a long time since my last post, I hope everyone is so well and did enjoy a gorgeous weekend!

I have been so busy for work and family recently and hardly find time for other things. It's been more than one month I didn't blog, but you - my bloggy friends - are still there, continue visiting, following my blog and leaving sweet words on my posts during my "absence", that really warms my heart... Thank you! I'm sorry for not either visiting back or leaving comments on yours as often as I wish, but I surely will, I will try to get back to my favorites as soon as I can!
I've been missing crochet so much. I tried some moments I had in the busy days to make these small flowers...

I also don't know what they will be for, just to crochet, just to pick my hook and touch my yarn again. That feeling is always so special to me...

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my rambling today. Take care, and wish you all a wonderful new week!

Love and hugs
