Sweet Nostalgia

I'm turning 30 this Saturday, eeep! I'm looking forward to it because I'm going to have a party with my friends but I definitely don't feel like a 30-year old!
Yesterday I was cleaning out my old room at my parents' house and found this photo of me at a horse riding camp aged 11, so sweet! I remember I had such a good time at that camp, all the kids and the leaders were really nice and we had fun together. I used to love horse riding and I miss it sometimes.

Another interesting find from my old room was this drawing, I forgot I had done this but as you can see I was designing mobile phone covers already as a child! :) I love the old school Nokia phone model!

Have you found any sweet old memories while cleaning lately?

Happy Sweden Day!

Today it's Sweden's National Day, or "The Swedish Flag's Day". Glad Nationaldag to all of my Swedish readers, and hurra for our beautiful country!

Spring Where Art Though?

This is the second week of miserable weather here in London, it's just raining and raining. Sometimes we get a bit of thunderstorm and lightning with the odd shower of hail... Brrr! If you have never lived in England you might think it's always like this, but it's not, last year we had a wonderful spring. Anyway, enough whinging, here's to hoping for a glorious summer! In the meantime let's cheer ourselves up with this wonderful photo collage by Elsa. Next month James and I are going to Stockholm to organise a lot of fun wedding stuff, I hope it will look like this!

Spring Feelings

Spring is my favourite season. It brings such joy and hope after the long, dark winter and I always feel happy and excited when the days start to get longer and the mild air fills with lovely smells of flowers and spring bonfires.

This spring I am going to:
  • Train for a 10k run in July
  • Design and send out our wedding invitations
  • Keep working with my company towards a Lisa Edoff Design product launch
  • Show James' parents Sweden
  • Drink wine in the park
What are your spring plans?

I ♡ You

This Valentine's Day I would like to dedicate to you my amazing readers and friends! It makes me so happy when I read your lovely comments or see on my statistic page that I have readers all over the world! I hope you all have a lovely day whether you're planning to go on a date, just relax with your loved ones or boycott this silly holiday altogether!

Here's an image from the most romantic movie I know (at least the first ten minutes, I cried!).

The 24th

Today it's exactly one month until Christmas! For us Swedes anyway, because we celebrate on Christmas Eve, not Christmas Day.
I bought my very first Christmas tree today, isn't it cute? James and I always go to Sweden for Christmas so I have never really decorated our flat before, but this year I decided to spread some cheer here in England too, excited about making our home cosy!

Are you excited about Christmas yet?

Whatever Floats Your Boat

On Thursday James and I tried something cooky - floatation tank treatment. It's like a relaxation body treatment where you go into this tank (that looks like a space ship) and float for an hour. The tank is filled with salt water, made to resemble the dead sea, and the water is exactly the same temperature as your skin so if you lie completely still you can't actually feel where the water surface ends.
In the beginning I messed up a little bit because I forgot to put the earplugs in and when I got in I realised I had shaved my legs that morning because they started to sting like hell! So I had to get out of the tub to get the earplugs and put some cream on my legs, but then they turned the lights out because I was supposed to be in the cocoon already :)
But after I sorted myself out I really enjoyed it and managed to relax straight away. It was really cool to experience the weightlessness you feel, because you don't notice the water it almost feels like you're floating in the air. I loved it in the beginning when they played relaxing music, but to be honest I was a little bored at the end... But it was definitely a cool and unusual experience!

The People Crazy Enough To Think They Can Change The World Are The Ones That Do

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your inner voice. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Do You Take Thee Prince?

Tomorrow is the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton! Although it seems the whole of Britain is in a frenzy, I can't say I care that much about it... but of course it's a lovely thing and I'll definitely watch the recap of the ceremony afterwards. I find all the memorabilia out there quite amusing, you can literally buy anything with Will&Kate's faces on it! Here are some things I thought were cute... All Hail Britannia!

Pins

I collect pins, don't really know why because I never use them. But everytime I go to an artistic market I buy some, and if they are given out for free I have to have one! Here are some of my pins, my favourite is the little French bulldog, so cute! That one is designed by Gemma Corell, check out more of her illustrations here!

Does Anyone Know What This Is?

Look what I got in the mail today, together with my baking tools that I ordered from Amazon. It's really odd because I didn't order this and there wasn't any note explaining a) why they included it with my order and b) what the hell it is?

First we thought it was a mini rolling pin, but that just seems stupid! Then James suggested that it's the thing you use with a mortar to crush herbs... maybe he's right, what do you think?

What I actually ordered was these tools that Lorraine Pascal says are essential when baking, so of course I had to get them :) I think I'm gonna make her soda bread tomorrow, yum!

The Storms Are Raging On The Rolling Sea...

And on the highway of regret
Though winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothing like me yet
I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love
To make you feel my love

Brrr!

It's so cold in London! They say it's -2 but it feels so much colder! Even snuggled up in bed underneath a duvet and a blanket I'm freezing... Weirdly enough I look forward to go to Sweden where it'll be even colder, but it's a dryer cold so it doesn't get under your skin in the same way, plus my parents house is really warm!

Sweden Showed Its Dark and Ugly Side

The Swedish Election for Parliament yesterday turned out catastrophic. A far-right party (SD) got 5.7% of the votes and won 20 of the 349 seats in the parliament. Their success meant that the centre-right alliance was deprived of a majority, even though they technically won the election with 49.3% of the votes. I am worried about my country. Sweden is known and admired around the world for its tolerance, liberal policies and good well fare system. I don't want it to get soiled by these idiots' ideology. Shame on you if you voted for them!

Now I'm hoping the other parties can work together to make sure the SD will get absolutely no influence in making decisions for our country.
