Uluru

[recensere | fontem recensere]Pitiantiatiarae loci lapidem appellant Uluṟu (IPA uluɻu), verbo quod in sua lingua (lingua Pitiantiatiara) nihil significat, sed adhibitum est nomen familiae loci a senissimis Ulurus possessoribus usitatis (Isaacs 1980:40–41).
Die 19 Iulii 1873, Gulielmus Gosse metator Uluru primum contigit, quod nominavit Ayers Rock honoris causa Henrici Ayers Equitis, secretarii praecipui Australiae Australis. Postea, ambo nomina adhibentur, sed Ayers Rock fuit nomen usitatissime ab externis ad annos recentes adhibitum. Anno 1993 sancta est ratio nominationis binarii, quae sinit ut nomina publica ex nominibus aboriginalibus et Anglicis constent.
