paintings in 2014

I had a great summer this past 2014,

and an even better Fall Season

Loveland Fall Art Show was great !

I sold four big paintings

Now as the Holidays are past and travel is over for awhile

I am settling in to paint my way through the winter chilly season now.

-20 wind chill this morning..BBBBBrrrrrrrrrr

A recap of a few of the paintings that I finished.

I'm trying to find better ways to photograph the textural paintings that I produce.

...very hard to get the good sharp definition at times.

I'm too busy to worry about your wind chill now.

I'm watching the cardinals hanging around

even in the extreme cold

they warm my heart and inspire me.

Summer dreams painting away

Can you ever believe just how fast Summers go by?

so I can paint upstairs now.

I got tired of going downstairs to the basement to paint.

and I hope I have a great show like last years.

I love living in a town that has so much

artistic creativity going on all the time

and people who appreciate it.

Shades of Summer in Loveland - WOYWW and PPF

Preparing for the annual art weekend here in my hometown,

where many local artists show the town how they create their art

all kinds of art will be underway and then displayed on Sunday.

I decided to do my wooden bird and tree (bark) art.

That is what I love about this town.

We are in the country-lands and farms surround us here.

There are so many birds and wildlife so close by.

My favorite thing to do (to relax) is to swing on my porch-swing

and just listen....

tweeting and twittering and hooting birds, croaking frogs,

buzzing bees and dragonflies

... and as nightfall comes you can really get into star gazing

and more nature sounds all around.

PPF - It is Now SPRING- Kick Up Your Heels !

Happy First week of Spring 2014 !
Lets all kick up our heels!

I have sent in my 2014 application for the Loveland Art Show.

Loveland, Ohio has a wonderful Artsy Vibe

and I am so glad I live here!

I have been trying to spread my wings with my paintings a bit

and try different things out

So as you see -I've been busy with the palette knife

trying to be as relaxed and free-wheeling as possible

with the color and the application of it

I like using lots of matte gel medium

and matte liquid medium mixed in with the paints

Im always looking to show lots of movement and texture.

having fun and hoping soon to be outside more in the warm sun!

Dec 6, 2013 - first snow day ! Happy PPF

I am Happy to see the pretty snow falling today.

all the schools closed today.

But we did not lose power like some poor souls, west of here.

I went to the Opening night

of the Loveland Winter Art Show last night

it was a chilly rain and a miserable night to be out in that icy stuff

but many art lovers braved the weather to come to the studios

and look at all the beautiful art.

I was amazed and awed at the quality of so many art works

...I am humbled to think I am included among them.

I have six paintings hung and I love to be involved

or included in the Winter Art Show of this caliber.

My First Art Show

I had a good experience this last Saturday

at the Warren County arts Festival

in old historical Downtown Lebanon , Ohio

I didn't sell any art

but I was excited to just be there as an artist

The crowds were smaller than usual for this show

maybe due to the hot hot day

But I thought the amount of people there was good

I had lots of wonderful compliments given

from all the nice folks that looked at my art

I would do it again and I hope I get to

Here is my 10 by 10 space and my paintings and prints

hung on old drying racks (for oil paintings)

I found the drying racks at the vintage shop in Loveland

and I thought these made a great way to hang up

my art from the tent.

Every artist seemed to have a different way

to display the art and wares.

It was a great experience

just to see how others made it work

for them and their art and crafts

It was in the high 80s and sweltering in the full sun.

Hubby and I stayed in the shade as much as possible.

The Warren County Art-fest people

were very nice to all the artists

we had a place to go to for breaks

with all kinds of drinks and treats.

Next time I need to be better prepared with more art

I had sparse selection compared with most of the other artists.

Next art show isn't till September

so I have time to get better prepared for that one

Kids Art Show Of Loveland Ohio

My Son Ryan
His very first art award !
I'm so proud of him for entering and
for loving art

made by imprinting an image
(a printed out photo)
onto a piece of foam
with a stylus or just a pencil
adding paint or ink
then transferring the image to a piece of paper

He titled it

" In the Mood "
