Happy Happy Mail
A retirement gift from me to me
Lazy Cats
31 x 84
not any time soon though
will spend the time thinking about the colors
from blacksheepwooldesigns.com
not on her website yet
just ask about different sizes
Rhonda has a large selection
of antique reproduction style rugs I'd love to hook
her patterns are beautifully drawn
The roofers started here today
but with rain on the way
they will only get part of it done
when they come back Monday it will be cooler
Happy Weekend friends!

One of a Kind
I've been working on this runner
for a few weeks
finally got the finishing done this morning
53 x 13
without a doubt
this one turned out exactly as imagined
there is another cat and pumpkin rug on the frame
using the same wools as this one
then on to other seasons
***
at this time I am not drawing up patterns
on linen or paper
the rugs I create now will are
one of a kind
this will probably change in the future
I'm thinking 2022
It's a beautiful fall day here in Ohio
wishing you
time to enjoy!

Blue Bird Rug
started the hooking this morning
mostly stash strips
cutting as I need
this boy
he loves to lean on quilts and hooked rugs
definitely a "do not disturb" face
image from Pinterest
circa 1880-1910
instantly fell for this antique rug
even if it has 4 hearts...
on my to hook list
Off to work soon
don't know if I can resist weighing myself
non scale successes have been great the past few days

Cats and Creating
stitching has resumed on the two color quilt
not that many blocks left to stitch
with Olivia's help
it only takes twice as long to get things done
a few blocks sewn together
most just pinned up
still not sure of the size
for now I'll be packing it up
when all the blocks are stitched
I need some more color
showing off her claws
I've never been able to trim even one
ears of annoyance
after being shooed to her chair
started a beachy rug for Debbie St Germain
this wasn't working
this is more like it
turning on the charm and purring up a storm
am going to try this recipe tonight
the buffalo chicken dip was so-so
had it for dinner and pitched the rest
nothing wrong with it
just not for me
celery is great dipped in salsa
but I do have to measure out the salsa
or the carbs will add up
I hope you're having a great weekend!

Random Pinterest Finds
this cat makes me so happy
is it the color or the cat
things I love but never make...
I probably share this image before...
one of these days I'm going to have
Saundra draw it up for me
Keto Ricotta Cake
I'll be making this today
I'm on day 13
**no hunger**no cravings**
weighed myself yesterday and have lost
18 pounds
blood sugar amazing
cut insulin in half
seeing endocrinologist next week
my new and improved recommendation for info:
Adapt Your Life channel on YouTube
try
The Keto Metabolic Makeover
for beginning information
Dr Eric Westman
worked with Dr Atkins and runs the
obesity program at Duke
I read all the educational information I can find
avoid the hype and product promoters
everyone makes this work for themselves
in a different way
especially depending on why you are doing it
weight loss only or improve health/diabetes
bliss
Happy Monday my friends!

Lavender in the Dye Pots
pulled out my copy of Karen Kahle's
Little Book of Lavender...
rats, out of the dyes so made up my own recipes...
two dye pots going
one more blue, one more red
I hope
this is one of the Pinterest images
that inspired the dyeing
might do some of those chartreuse greens next
if you want to see how my dyeing has been going
check out the previous days for the "after photos"
yesterday's grays dyed green
are still waiting for a rinse and dry
are still waiting for a rinse and dry
will add them to the older
post tomorrow
hope that makes sense
I am bored silly with my fabric stash
between mom and I most of it has been around
20-30 years
am not interested in new fabric though
too much to use up
or dog!
Hope you're having a great weekend
I'm off and resting my achy legs and feet
my own fault
for gaining weight over the winter
depression contributes to my eating issues
but I just like food too much!
the struggle has begun to lose weight again
~~~~~
I hope don't mind seeing Jensen's handsome face
for a few more days
first he makes me smiles as an actor and a person
second my electronics are giving me an issue
with changing the header photo
Use It Up Stitching
current work tote bag project
using cream homespun as the light
will only be as big as the homespun on hand
inspired by this top
found on Pinterest
love the cheerful look of these colors
my stash is sooo boring to me
#useitup
next up in the dye pots
the three pieces of wool across the top are small pieces
the windowpane gray is a yard
it's a Moda wool, I don't care for their wool at all
hoping the dyeing will help me use it
purchased a bundle so plenty more to dye
edited to add:
this batch turned out nice
recipe a bit of this and that
the Moda wool smells awful when dyeing
