Did Someone Say Cake?
Hello Everyone!! Today I have some cake for you! OK, so not REAL cake, but rather the paper kind. If you have been busy enjoying the Northern Hemisphere Summer, or rugged up and trying to stay warm during the Southern Hemisphere Winter and missed the Midsummer Stunner Power Poppy Release, it was chock full of yummy cake images! Cakes are great because they are part of celebration - when you think about it, whenever there is a celebratory event, there front and centre is a delicious cake waiting to be enjoyed! I'll be using all these images a lot for a variety of occasions! So where did this cake come from? Today I've used Dream Wedding by Power Poppy!
I've used a base of cream, layered with Cherry Cobbler cut with A2 Tranquil Moments and wrapped some white and ivory ribbon around it. Next I stamped the cake image from Dream Wedding in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R30, R32, R35, R37, R39, E50, E51, E53, YR21, YR23, YR16, E13, G40, G43, G46, N1, N3, Y11). This has been cut with Large Oval Nestabilities and matted with cream cut with A2 Tranquil Moments and then popped up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape. To finish I added a bow and a few pearls.
Inside I stamped the same image in Memento Desert Sand and then stamped the sentiment, also from Dream Wedding, in Memento Rhubarb Stalk.
Stamps - Dream Wedding (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Cream, Cherry Cobbler
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Desert Sand, Rhubarb Stalk

Mixed Media Confirmation
Hello Everyone! Next month my son, along with eight other teens from our church will be celebrating their confirmation. I've been asked to make confirmation cards with a red/white/black colour palette for each teen and I'm trying to make each one to suit the personality of the confirmee. The very first one is for an 'arty' girl so I've gone with a mixed media theme and a 'grunge cross' that is now retired, but originally from Our Daily Bread Designs. I don't usually do Mixed Media, but I was happy with the way this one turned out and I really hope she likes it.
It was a bit of trial and error making this card - I used a base of thick card and some Triple Tac to adhere scraps of paper and some printed scripture verses. Over this I've added some gesso, dried that and then used a Burlap Stencil and some Impasto Medium to add a little texture. I've stamped the Grunge Cross in the middle of the piece in StazOn and then started adding some colour with Gelatos, sponging some Memento Rhubarb Stalk through a Chicken Wire Stencil. I've stamped the letters and die cut them adding some black pen to the edges and attaching as shown. I've stamped the 'Confirmation' sentiment from Our Daily Bread Design's Confirmation set in Memento Gray Flannel. I've then splattered a bit of white from a Molotow pen, some black water colour and added some black pen for accenting. To finish I've stamped the Grunge Cross again and die cut it with the matching die (also retired) and popped it up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape and then popped it onto the front of a folded piece of Cherry Cobbler topped with Black card.
Stamps - Grunge Cross (ret), Confirmation (ODBD)
Paper - Thick card, scraps, Cherry Cobbler, Black
Ink - StazOn, Memento Gray Flannel, Rhubarb Stalk
Accessories - Gesso, Impasto Medium, Gelatos, Molotow Paint Pen, Burlap and Chicken Wire Stencils, Black Watercolour paint, Grunge Cross Die, Black Brush Pen, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and a hope you are inspired to stamp! :)

Red Velvet Cake
Hello Everyone!! It's Power Poppy Friday and time to have a peek at what the Bloom Brigade have been up to this week! I've been playing with the newly released clear stamp set called Party Time! If you are anything like me, you ALWAYS need birthday cards and this set is absolutely awesome full of fun images and sentiments! I know I'll be using this A LOT!!!
So I grabbed Party Time and decided to turn the layer cake into a Red Velvet cake with luscious red layers and coloured the icing to create a chocolate ganache! I've stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copic Markers (R24, R29, E23, E25, E27, E50, E51, E53). It's been cut out with Labels 28 and matted with red card cut with Decorative Labels 28. The base is made of cream layered with red and some dotty brown paper. Across this is more red topped with cream embossed with a swirl embossing folder. I've stamped the sentiment from Party Time in black in the bottom corner, added a couple of rhinestones to the top corner and popped the image up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape in the middle.
Stamps - Party Time (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Cream, Red, It's a Girl DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Labels 28 and Decorative Labels 28, Embossing Folder, Clear Rhinestones, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.

Beach in a Box
Hello Everyone! Today I'm showing a card in a box that I made as part of a publication set using Best Day Ever by Power Poppy a while ago and I thought since some of my readers are in the middle of Summer they might enjoy it - those of us in the middle of Winter are simply wishing for warmer days and hope this brings a little sunshine to your day! It's beachy/summer themes are certainly having me wishing for warmer days - roll on Spring I say!!
I've use the box template from Silhouette which comes with all the bits for matching inserts. I simply stamped the flip flops (or what the Aussies call thongs), sunglasses, hat, camera and sentiment from Best Day Ever onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured in a range of Copic Markers. The images were fussy cut and popped up on green card pieces to match the box. The sun was another Silhouette template and the sentiment was cut into a notched tag and adhered as shown.
Stamps - Best Day Ever (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Green, Yellow and Orange Card, Patterned Paper
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Silhouette Files, Scissors
That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!

Power and Spark Challenge!
Hello Everyone!! It's the first Friday of the month (can you believe it is July already??) and that means it's time for another Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge!! I'm hosting this month and your challenge is to 'B Happy'! What that means is to create a card with 'B' things as your focus - think Bouquets, Bees, Butterflies, Birthday Cake, Bunting, Banners, Buttons, Brads, Backpacks, Buttercups etc....
How many 'B' things can you see on my card??!! I've used a Bouquet (it's the digi stamp by Power Poppy called Spring Meadow Bouquet).....which also has a Butterfly and a Bee on there! I've also used a Banner die as well as a Bracket Border punch! My Birthday card (that sentiment is from the brand new Party Time clear set released this week!) is mostly Blue and it also has a few Buttons! I also hunted high and low through my stash to find some paper that started with 'B' - this is some old MME Bluebell DP!!! HA!!!
How easy was that?? Anyone can play along with the B Happy Challenge and you have the chance to WIN a FREE Power Poppy stamp set of your choice!!!
Stamps - Spring Meadow Bouquet, Party Time (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Marina Mist, White, MME Bluebell DP
