- As the Lethal Poisonous Frog is a live animal, it will attempt to flee if the player approaches it too quickly. The How Ribbiting challenge tests a player's ability to catch frogs.
- If the Lethal Poisonous Frog attempts to flee and the player does not pick it up in time, it will despawn. It will eventually respawn if the player leaves the area.
- The player can get closer to the frogs without alerting them by crouching and moving slowly
- When placed or held after being caught, it will be placed down as a Lethal Poison Vial with an image of a frog on it, though it is still a Lethal Poisonous Frog.
- Interestingly, the model used is from HITMAN™ 2.
- If given to Gregory M. Yeager, he will treat the frog as if it merely causes nausea, and will give the player an Emetic Gas Grenade.
- This is strange, as Emetic Poisonous Frogs are not an item that the player can even acquire in any level of the game, let alone Ambrose Island.
- The model of the Lethal Poisonous Frog is used for the trophy earned from the Don't Lick Me challenge.
- The model of the Lethal Poisonous Frog is used for the topper of The Devil's Cane.
