The skies are clearing after several days of clouds and drizzle and the sun is trying its best to pop through.  A Sunny Sunday to be had.

Just had to show you my latest doily treasure.  I love this sweet pattern and think I might like to make several (many) for a table cloth.  But the real reason I am so taken with this is because I did this from a chart!  This is my first charted crochet.  I have never been able to do charts before so I am thrilled.  Its not to say that I can now whiz through a chart, but it gives me the confidence to try another smaller crochet.  Then, hopefully, I can do some of the magnificent pieces I have seen over the years.

Good golly, do I love crochet!

Have a Sunny Day
of Blessings
 wherever you are.

Happy Weekend

A glorious day of sunshine, flowers and perfect weather.  A great way to start the weekend.   Thinking of a trip to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to further my thread crochet addiction, which is alive and well.  Looking for some different, vibrant colors of thread to add some splender to the coming summer months.

The hook and stash thread have produced several small doilies and coasters over the past few weeks.  I never tired of these little treasures.  My blue larger doily is at the final row, hopefully to be completed sometime this weekend.

And my latest little treasure.  I love white on white and placing a doily coaster on the dishes.  Turns a tea and muffin into simple elegance.

The creating hook will shortly come out again.  Looking to design a treasure bag.  To get the idea from thought, to hook, to paper.  If it goes well, there will be a new pattern to share.

Have a great weekend,
blooms and blessings.

Need A Name

I finally have designed a new doily.  I will have to crochet another one before I can post the pattern as I just got crocheting row after row without writing it down ... there's still a few more rows to add and then to recreate and document.  And oh yes, I'm looking for a name for this.  Any suggestions?

Welcome to the weekend, have a good one.

Blessings,

Different Degrees of Progress

for the Crochet Along and oh so beautiful.  These are a few of the participants.  Just look at the colors and  the combo.  Aren't these magnificent.  I really do like this pattern and in each color I see I want one just like it.  The first is Alujala of  Aluajala's Cockroaches  Can't you just picture a vase of sunflowers?  Talk about bright and sunshine.

And the deep purple by Hookin It With Mr. Lick Lick.  She's going to edge this with pink.  Won't that be stunning!

Pammy Sue's of
Scotty's Place with this chocolate and ecru combo.  I've looked for the chocolate thread locally without success and now will have to look on line as I love this combo and have to have this!

And Pam of Holloway Family Adventures  I wasn't able to enlarge the picture but you can certainly see how gorgeous this is.  The thread is exquisite.

As for me ... I was almost done last night when I discovered a mistake ... blahhhh! ... so ripped out the last two rows and on a redo hopefully today.  I want to get the last four rows posted this weekend as I will be away for most of next week.

To a fabulous friday
of crocheting!

Snow Day Off - Some Info on the Crochet Along

Snow has been falling since last night so I am spending the day tucked inside with my hook, well, I do need to do a few household chores, but you can count on a steaming cup of tea this afternoon and fingers and thread and yarn moving.  Ahhhh, that sounds like music to my ears.

There are several who will be doing the crochet along.  This is so fun.  Just a little info for those who haven't done this before and have asked ... the pattern is an online pattern, I'll post the link (actually its also in a previous post).  Then I will write out a few rows of the pattern at a time, without abbreviations, crochet terms fully written out.  Additional rows will be posted a few times a week until done.  Work at your own pace, we'll be here.   I will be using size 10 crochet thread (a full ball will be required for all one color) and a size 4 steel hook.  Use whatever size hook you enjoy.  Many use a size 7.  Its up to you.  Just that different size hooks will yield a different size doily.  I am going to use two colors with the round part of the doily in white and the rest red.  Starting in a day or two.

Keep warm and safe.
Blessings.

Sunny Sunday

We've got clear skies and super sun this morning with predictions of the same for tomorrow.  The sun bouncing off the snow is gorgeous.  Its really a wonderland look.  Winter certainly does hold its own magnificence.

I've added a few more rows to the Rising Sun doily, with five more rows to go to finish.  I had hoped to be a little further along on this by now but life has this funny quirk of getting in the way.  We'll see where we get to today.  I think this could be a fun pattern (and the end result I think is very pretty) for the Crochet Along.
