Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Superboss". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

Hey, just wondering, why is this a candidate? I mean, I was still working on it. Tzar Ichimaru 05:13, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

You'll have to excuse some of the people here. They wield the "notability" stick without even realizing it >:3 Maybe if worked in Wikipedia you know what I'm talking about. AJDurai 01:50, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XI[]

Where are the FFXI superbosses? I think they are the most difficult enemies in the series.--Sinh 20:00, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

It's waiting for someone with enough experience of FFXI to add it. Bluer 20:03, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

The 4 Heroes of Light[]

Would the 4 enemies atop the 4 gold-lock towers each count as superbosses? (If so, I can help there after having defeated all of them.) EDIT: The first tower is the Mystic Knight guy from the desert. (Can't spell his name.) The level 2 tower is Torte. The level 3 tower is Rolan and Rekoteh and the level 4 tower is the save guy and his fox. 1stclasswarrior 22:37, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Feral Chaos[]

Should Feral chaos be included as a superboss in Dissidia 012, after all he IS the most difficult boss and is a side quest senario. (Primal Link 17:07, March 22, 2011 (UTC))

Thanx Drake! (Primal Link 17:41, March 22, 2011 (UTC))

Wait a sec... Feral Chaos is a playable character or a Superboss?? -- LTFabrettiChocobo Dragoon 17:52, March 22, 2011 (UTC)
He's both: In order to unlock him as a playable character, you first have to defeat an obscenely difficult version of him that has nearly 130,000 HP. Teamrocketspy621 18:17, March 22, 2011 (UTC)

Lost Babil (The After Years on PSP)[]

I was watching a video about Lost Babil on YouTube and I read about the creator of it talking about how this superboss was disappointing and weak. :P Honestly to me it's preety badass looking. :) --Ethanthegamer (talk) 04:03, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

Lost Babil isn't that easy. Videos make it look easy because they have studied the guy beforehand and know what to do. Any other player that challenges it head-on without knowing how it works, will warrant fatal retaliation from this fella. --BGMaxie (talk) 04:55, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

So just in case, if I ever get FFIV: The Complete Collection should I probably level up all my characters, get rare weapons, and choose the 3 parties with the most powerful Band abilities? =/ --Ethanthegamer (talk) 05:39, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XIV is no longer valid[]

Due to the remake "Final Fantasy XIV ARR", the Final Fantasy XIV section is no longer Valid 66.189.173.57 15:39, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

It was a thing so it is still valid. Just because a game is no longer playable does not mean we should remove all coverage of it. We should change the tense however, and make it clear that it does not apply to A Realm Reborn. JBed (talk) 16:12, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
that is a horrible reason to maintain information on a game that no longer is valid anymore, it is not a thing, final fantasy a realm reborn is not a separate game, it is still final fantasy XIV whether you like it or not (it is not a continuation or a sequel or a prequel)honestly, thats like someone saying that a beta fight is still valid because it was a thing which of course is a horrible excuse 66.189.173.57 12:47, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
Valid information can be added when FFXIV is live again, the same game but fixed and modified 66.189.173.57 12:50, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
And when they turn the servers off for FFXI (i assume that's how FFXI works) do we then mass-delete all the information we have about FFXI? No. 92.28.178.166 13:04, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
No because that version of FFXI will always be valid as it was not updated to such an extent that the information here became invalid, again your treating version 2.0 like it was a different game 66.189.173.57 13:14, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

It is a version of the game that existed and could be played, there is no reason to not cover it. The original versions of older games are no longer in production, we cover them. Drake Clawfang (talk) 12:58, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

It is a older revision of one game not two different games, FinalFantasy XIV has been updated and although most of the game has changed, it is still the same game, which means you could see version 1.0 like you could see a beta (unfinished) 66.189.173.57 13:06, July 15, 2013 (UTC)
instead of keeping information of version 1.0, it should be updated to reflect that the information is no longer valid and then updated to reflect version 2.0, this game is not FFXIV then FFXIV-2 that is incompetent to treat it as such 66.189.173.57 13:10, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

No, it is not. When covering Absolute Virtue we mention things that are no longer apt but were present in earlier releases, there is no reason to not do the same with FF14. Drake Clawfang (talk) 13:13, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Alright if this is all true then where is all the beta version super bosses of past FF games? 66.189.173.57 13:18, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Please direct yourself to the fact that the XIV section starts by clearly mentioning the Legacy version. Hell, there's a bit at the end to fill in for ARR when we know about their superbosses. We cover every version of every game that we can, period. If you don't like that, well, I suggest you go and rant somewhere else. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 13:15, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Look, we cover everything that has ever existed in relation to Final Fantasy, including Version Differences. They were superbosses at the time and therefore they are still worth covering on this page which regards superbosses. We are not treating the two things as two games, we are just covering the differences. In v1 these were superbosses, but in v2, they were no longer superbosses: That's what we're saying. 92.28.178.166 13:18, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

ok fine point taken 66.189.173.57 13:20, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Move to List of Superbosses[]

Topic. Drake Clawfang (talk) 12:59, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

While it is a list of superbosses, it is also a page about superbosses. I personally dislike having a page titled "List of" when we don't have a non-List of page and there is an explanation to be had. 92.28.178.166 13:04, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Final Fantasy Type-0 Which bosses can be considered as superboss?

FFIX[]

Personally, I felt that Hades was just as much a superboss as Ozma was. :/ He's equally powerful and optional, if maybe not quite as hard (due to not being so cheap), and you get far more out of beating him... HayanNinja (talk) 11:00, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind Hades being added, though I don't recall it being especially hard.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:20, April 7, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't think he was hard at all. I had a far more trouble with the final bosses than I did with Hades. JBed (talk) 15:55, April 7, 2014 (UTC)
Necron's actually pretty hard in FFIX. It's those status attacks...Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:26, April 7, 2014 (UTC)
FFIX is probably a tricky one because the superbosses really weren't that much harder than normal endgame bosses, and didnt require you to grind out in order to beat it. That being said, both Hades and Ozma were optional and had very similar stats.. so it could be that both are considered superbosses - there can always be more than one, like with Long Gui / Vercingetorix in XIII. Considering the difficulty in reaching Ozma, I'd say he was probably intended to be the greater superboss, which is why the article currently only features him--Arciele Spira (talk) 17:06, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

FFX-2[]

Technically, Trema isn't a fiend; he's an unsent. Paragon is the strongest *fiend* in the via Infinito. Just a wording issue, but I wasn't sure how to fix it. HayanNinja (talk) 06:58, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

That's true. Trema's the only one who doesn't transform for the battle.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 09:00, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

MMOs / XIV[]

I think you should just alter the section to however you see it best. :)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 03:42, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

adding a note that they were a superboss until version x.xx will help. they're easier now doesn't mean they never been extremely hard in the past. Monterossa (talk) 05:03, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
