Roulette marker
[edit]I just ran across another noun meaning of dolly in Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roulette#Rules_of_play_against_a_casino):
When a winning number and color is determined by the roulette wheel, the dealer will place a marker, also known as a dolly, on that winning number on the roulette table layout.

Which sense is this?
[edit]Something for moving a (fuel?) tank:
- 1956, Flight International (volume 69, page 80)
- Using special dollies, workers have the tanks already in position and as soon as a Stratojet is parked work is begun.

- @Equinox: I assume sense 8, "A small truck without steering means to be slipped under a load". Not just UK usage. The big U.S. hardware stores offer rectangular wood frames with wheels on the corners under the name "dolly" and I've heard it many times in the Northeast USA.
