[edit]Feminine of ছৱাল (sowal), inherited from Prakrit 𑀙𑀸𑀯 (chāva) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀮- (-la-), from Sanskrit *छाप (chāpa) with further origin unknown. [1] Doublet of চেউৰী (seuri).
