Edit warring

I've warned the Angry Shopper. Let me know if he comes back. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:22, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

re:Dream Theater discography

If you were up for it, I wouldn't mind if you did a copyedit of the prose. Thanks, Burningclean [speak] 18:37, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Cleaning up the text issues in the lead. Some people have listed small problems in the lead. I usually ask someone else to do copy-editing, but I forgot this time. I'm rarely on anymore. I think the last article I worked on was Metallica discography. Burningclean [speak] 18:43, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
If you aren't busy, would you mind doing a copyedit of the prose in Machine Head discography. Burningclean [speak] 20:06, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I will cite everything, I was just wondering if you could clean up the text. Burningclean [speak] 21:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Burningclean [speak] 05:24, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Hey, do you mind revisiting Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Dream Theater discography? Thanks, Burningclean [speak] 20:25, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

I'll take a look at it. By the way, I like the name of the headline. :) −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 23:47, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Deathcore band edits, on Job For A Cowboy article, et al

As also seen on the Whitechapel (band) article, you seem to be intent on distancing "-core" bands from the deathcore genre. Considering the band in subject still plays music from their demo/EP (which is deathcore) would you mind explaining how they are still not deathcore? If you could use the edit summaries to explain your rationale, or at least engage in some discussion, that would be great, otherwise, your reversions are perceivable as a little WP:BOLD and WP:POV. Thanks, --Danteferno (talk) 22:42, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

I've been watching it lately so I'll do the edit once you're done. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 06:11, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

I wasn't sure when you wanted me to edit it and I did after while but now all that matters is that it's finally an FL! Nice work. :) −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 22:43, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes I like them and I already know that you have since they're in my watchlist and saw that you added the discography link to their page. I already did a little cleanup a bit before but I'll continue as you go along. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 23:39, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Question, is it something i havn't fixed on the Lostprophets discography. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 15:14, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Just noticed you reverted my withdraw of the Lostprophets disco, i didn't revert it because of all those tasks you gave me, i did it cause i have so much work to do, re-write the Mark Lanegan and Bryan Adams page, i have three FL candidates and i'm goin to write a proper article for all the Bryan Adams albums, which is hard when all the albums are stubs. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 22:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Well i've replaced all the fansite references with reliable sources, is it something else, if its not can you please support, :)CHINA. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 21:26, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if you still working on getting all those metal discographies to FL, if you do can you help with the Judas Priest discography. Oh you may notice it doesn't have a lead, well i'm goin to add it tomorrow. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 20:10, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Angry, first i havn't given up work on the Lostprophets discography, i'm goin to nominate it later when i've fixed the problems. Their are many lists i've withdrawn from nomination so that wasn't the first one. How did i get you to look like a clown? i'm a bit confused about that. But sorry. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 14:03, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

System of a Down discography cleanup

Hello, sorry to bother you. I was hoping you could help me clean up a few things on the System of a Down discography article to get it to featured article status. I'm not quite sure how to resolve these things, so I'm asking for help:

  • The lead section. I'm clueless on how to make perfect lead sections.
  • The precise release dates for Sugar E.P. (by the way, should it be called Sugar E.P. or Sugar (EP)?) and Limited Edition Tour CD aren't known. Is this acceptable?
  • According to Sugar E.P., the song "Storaged" is spelled as "Störagéd" (which is a spelling used on the Allmusic review of Sugar E.P.). Should "Storaged" be spelled as "Störagéd" on the System of a Down discography page?
  • There are four separate citations for SOAD's singles chartings on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Are four citations okay?
  • The citations for the music video directors for "Spiders" (Charlie Deaux), "Boom!" (Michael Moore) and "Hypnotize" (Shavo Odadjian) are missing. I can find links where it does say this here, here and here, but I have no idea if any of them are reliable or not (mvdbase.com even mentions a video for a song called "Sit Down", but I can't even find a song named "Sit Down" on any of the albums, so I don't think it's true).
  • I can't tell if "Vicinity of Obscenity" is actually a single. I don't think it is, as it didn't chart, there isn't an article about it, and the Hypnotize album doesn't mention it as a single.
  • The music video director for "War" (demo) [which is a pretty suspicious title, if you ask me...] has its director listed as "Unknown"... yeah, what should I do about this?

If these things can be resolved, I think this could easily be a featured article. Thanks much for your help, Xnux the Echidna 04:11, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Question

Have you tried running your anti-virus? Are you the only user of your computer or is it shared with others who may have proxy programs loaded? — Ѕandahl 19:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

I have running anti-virus two times after this block, none virus were found; I'm only user on my PC. What is a proxy program? Cite examples for my understanding. "189.112.192.3"—what is the danger that this IP represents for Wikipedia? Others registered users like me are in this situation? Regards, Cannibaloki 20:55, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
You can surf google or any search engine and find information on them. We have an article on Open proxy. This page explains why they are blocked No open proxies. — Ѕandahl 22:07, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I have run nmap on you IP (189.112.192.3), which shows these ports open:

PORT STATE SERVICE
21/tcp open ftp
22/tcp open ssh
23/tcp open telnet
53/tcp open domain
80/tcp open http
81/tcp open hosts2-ns
2000/tcp open callbook
3128/tcp open squid-http

I am able to use port 3128 to connect through your IP to the internet at large. http://189.112.192.3/ shows a page for a web server, mikrotik routeros which I think is probably hosted by your router. It would seem that it is misconfigured. I suggest you visit http://www.mikrotik.com/software.html to figure out how to fix it. Kevin (talk) 22:35, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah your router is acting as an open proxy, meaning anyone in the world can use your IP. You should reconfigure your router, but in the meantime I wouldn't mind granting you IP block exemption. Spellcast (talk) 06:40, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I have granted IP block exemption (don't know why I didn't think of it before) until you get your router fixed. I'll remove the right once the router is fixed (not too long please). Kevin (talk) 07:31, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
You should be able to edit normally, but I recommend getting your router fixed so that it doesn't accept outgoing HTTP requests. Spellcast (talk) 08:49, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your compassion. Regards, Cannibaloki 13:22, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah it seems to be ok now. Did you actually get someone to sort it out? Spellcast (talk) 09:50, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
The proxy is closed now, so I have unblocked, and removed the IP block exemption. Kevin (talk) 00:05, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Removing edit

Just curious as to why adding a link to a lyrics website for a band (under external links) isn't considered a "constructive edit." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Absurd (talkcontribs)

Because it goes against WP:LYRICS. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 02:54, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
...also in Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums#External links: "Appropriate links may include links to chords or lyrics for the tracks on the album. Note however that lyrics may be protected by copyright, and external resources that reprint lyrics may be violating that copyright, in which case they should not be linked." — I believe that external links to lyrics sites, are spam and copyright violation. Arise (album) - Importance Scale

Greetings... I've noticed you removed Be Black Hole Sun's WikiProject Rock from the projects box. You don't agree with his "mid" importance rating of Arise? Musicaindustrial (talk) 15:25, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, technically speaking extreme metal can be considered one of rock music's multiple branch outs... If we were to track extreme metal back to it's roots, the end result might resemble something like this:
Death metal → Thrash metal → NWOBHM → Hard rock → Rock 'n' roll (1960s - 1950s).
So, even if Deicide and Elvis Presley are, soundwise, completely different, they unbelievably share common roots... And your edit wasn't necessarily "wrong", because I know many metalheads share that discomfort of metal (especially of the extreme variety) being associated with meat and potatoes rock music. Musicaindustrial (talk) 16:41, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

No, why are you asking? --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 16:39, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

I've added it on some Metallica songs and various metal albums such as thefakesoundofprogress, Meteora and many more, so no thats wrong. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 18:51, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
I've removed the WPRock template on the Megadeth page, don't know why but i don't wanna come in a edit war with you right now. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 20:49, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
