I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. Okay, I went ahead and created these pages for you: User:Kornfan71/Status2 and User:Kornfan71/StatusChange2. StatusChange2 has all the identification stuff, and you can control your status with /Status2. At /Status2, where it currently reads "Online", change it to "Offline" or "Busy" and you can get the customized sign for that. To put it on your user/user talk page, just type {{User:Kornfan71/Status2}} and then it will show up. Hope that helps! Nishkid64 20:24, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not aware of it being possible to do this except perhaps in extreme cases involving libel and the like. It's the closest thing Wikipedia can have to a "paper trail" so I think it's considered important for accountability. You might be able to find out if it's possible by asking a question at the Helpdesk. It's possible higher-ups might be able to do this. 23skidoo 01:13, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Kornfan71! It's possible, but in your case, it might not be necessary. If you move the page to a subpage, for example, User:Kornfan71/Sandbox, and then go back to your original user page (it will redirect to the subpage, but just click the "Redirected from User:Kornfan71" link), you can restore your user page's code. This way, the history stays in the subpage instead of your main user page. If you want, you can ask a sysop to delete the subpage by adding {{db-userreq}} to it. Here's my explanation step-by-step:

1. Move User:Kornfan71 to User:Kornfan71/Sandbox by clicking the move page link and following the steps there.
2. The page history is moved.
3. Go back to your original page (directions stated above).
4. Restore the code there.

To make these sigs, you might need to be able to use <span> (which gives the fancy colours). Also, in case you haven't, you need to set your signature preference to "raw." My signature, just as an example, is:

Please note that Image:Status.gif which you use on your user and talk pages, has been nomianted for deletion on commons. In any case I ask that you consider not using it, as it can cause epileptic seziures in readers. do you know where I can get another good status image?

I can't say that I do, as I have never wantged such a thing, but how hard would it be to create a simple circle of red, greeen, or yellow in a paint tool, upload it and use that? why the need for flashing? DES ^(talk) 00:33, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I see you've just removed the section asking about why the time wasn't updating, so you might have found out already. On the off chance you hadn't though, I thought I would point it out. The reason that the time wasn't updating every time you refreshed is because you are loading a cached version of the page. This caching is done to reduce server load, but means that things like time do not update until the cache is purged. To purge the cache, you can just add ?action=purge after any URL. So this link will produce a version of your userpage which is up-to-date with the current time. Hope that helps. Regards. Will (aka Wimt) 01:10, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

The problem is that {{time}} is not realy well suited for being a current clock. Because of server cacheing the timestamp may not be updated until your page's cache is purged, which happens when it is edited, and which you can force manually if you like (there is a script at WP:US for adding a "purge" tab to your wikipedia dispaly). In't not sure what a good solution to this is, you might try asking at the pump's technical section. DES ^(talk) 01:10, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed you have recently discouraged User talk:65.101.36.19 from removing warnings from his talk page, threatening that such action may result in a block. While it is perfectly understandable to be frustrated with this behavior, Wikipedia:User_page#Removal_of_warnings states that, "Policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user. Deleted warnings can still be found in the page history." Although there may be some nuance in the policy I'm not aware of, it seems that Wikipedia policy does not prohibit the removal of warnings on talk pages. --Ybbor^Talk 22:25, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey buddy. Just a head's up that you posted a supposed "block" on User:24.57.44.48. This blocking privilege is for admins only, and simply posting a notice does nothing. I experienced/still experience the same thing since I started working heavily in anti-vandal work. Someone always seems to disagree or get upset. I wasn't trying to come across as yelling at you or anything. Vandalism is probably the most heavily contentious issue around Wikipedia, and it boils up quite a bit. Don't be discouraged; you seem to be a great anti-vandal fighter, and you can only get better with time :). Jmlk17 00:33, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
