You're right, my "solution" made it no better - before, it looked like the "needs expansion" tag was applied to the early settlers. Personally, in cases like this, I believe that the subsection header should be removed it there is no text for it, because it produces more confusion than enlightenment. If the time comes that somebody wants to write about the geology, a header can be resurrected. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 15:05, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Hoover Image.

It isn't a drawing/painting, it was a photo by Harris & Ewing. I feel that it represents him better, the old one is a tad bit dark. However, I'll try to find a better version of it, higher res. Connormah (talk) 23:13, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Mistaken Identity?

Recently you have sent me a message informing me of an attempt at editing the Truss bridge page. There is no way this could have possibly happened as I have never viewed the article before and have not made any contributions to the main wikipedia for years (although I have made edits to some minor wikis in recent history). I have the feeling that this message was not intended for me to recieve and I fear that you may have sent it to the wrong person. Could you check again the see if you have sent the message to the right person? I believe there has been some mistake. 90.196.41.110 (talk) 14:03, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

No mistake. Your IP made this edit. - Denimadept (talk) 16:50, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

NOTE: Please reply to notes I leave on your Talk page, on your Talk page to keep discussion together.

Hi: I removed Commons:Category:Charles River because the file is in Commons:Category:Harvard Bridge, which reports to Commons:Category:Bridges over the Charles River which in turn reports to Commons:Category:Charles River.

Or do I misunderstand Commons:COM:OVERCAT? It says, "don't put a file in CatX and its parent", but says nothing about CatX and its grandparent. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 17:17, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I see. That was not obvious. - Denimadept (talk) 19:24, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
BTW, it's a nice pic. I like the ice/snow pattern a lot and the Hancock frames it well on the right. I might have cropped the foreground a little more, but I tend to crop more tightly than most other people. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 23:09, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Revert on Wadi Leban Bridge

Hi Denimadept,

Can you give a bit more information as to the reasons for this revert? I understood that unit abbreviations in infoboxes are preferred. Also do you have a reference that clarifies the different name for the bridge as it appears in the coord template? It would be useful to include this information in the text, yes? Bleakcomb (talk) 10:39, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

That preference is news to me, but that's not why I reverted. I reverted because I mis-read the modifier. I thought you used "adj=on". Deleting the coord "name" attribute was an error on your part as I see it. It had a typo, which I have now fixed. - Denimadept (talk) 16:28, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
See Wikipedia:Mosnum#Conventions. The name parameter to the coord template by default takes the article name as its value. Respecifying the default value for the name just leads to confusion and errors, as seen here. Best avoided. Bleakcomb (talk) 05:15, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

You edited my page without knowing what you're talking about; that is why there is a discussion page. Battleship Cove and the Marine Museum are two separate organizations. Battleship Cove does have a partnership with the Marine Museum, but they do not own or operate it. Please do not change pages if you have no citations or facts to do so. And by putting the redirect at the top of the page, you basically eliminated everyone from accessing the page and information; this is considered an act of vandalism on wikipedia - depending on the intention. Electroengie (talk) 15:26, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

That's why I put the comment that I did in, and why I didn't remove the content. - Denimadept (talk) 15:30, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Revert on Old Blenhiem bridge

I'm a bit late responding to the revert. was trying to muddle though and familiarize myself with editing here on wikipedia, so thought perhaps you might not any longer be checking back. Comments - and a request for assistance - on my talk page JosephGJohnson (talk) 22:13, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
