I live in Tromsø, Norway, where I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Norwegian Polar Institute. My research here focuses on sea ice and climate. Before moving here in January 2008, I lived in Seattle, Washington, USA, where I got my Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science at the University of Washington. The focus of my research there was climate and solar radiation processes in Antarctica. My main focus on Wikipedia is on articles related to the Arctic and Antarctic, especially those with a relation to climate or weather. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in Antarctica (at the South Pole and Dome C), and in the Russian Arctic, Svalbard, and the Fram Strait.
