This page documents notable tornadoes and tornado outbreaks worldwide in 2025. Strong and destructive tornadoes form most frequently in the United States, Bangladesh, and Eastern India, but they can occur almost anywhere under the right conditions. Tornadoes also develop occasionally in southern Canada during the Northern Hemisphere's summer and somewhat regularly at other times of the year across Europe, Asia, and Australia. Tornadic events are often accompanied with other forms of severe weather including strong thunderstorms, winds and hail.

It is believed that 2025's La Niña will influence tornado patterns.[1]

EF2 damage near Marion, Louisiana.

A regional tornado outbreak occurred on the afternoon and evening of January 5. The first tornado touched down in Lincoln County, Arkansas, damaging chicken houses and trees; it has not been rated yet. The second and strongest tornado of the outbreak touched down SE of Marion, Louisiana, sweeping away a garage at high-end EF2 intensity before lifting near Dean. In the evening, an EF1 tornado passed northwest of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, prompting a PDS tornado warning as it damaged chicken homes, trees and power lines and resulted in one indirect injury when a train hit a tree branch on the railroad tracks. A few other tornadoes were confirmed including a low-end EF2 that toppled a powerlines north of Brooksville, Mississippi. Overall, at least seven tornadoes have been confirmed.[3]
