[edit]The last really popular... Calvin and Hobbes? That is a POV issue. What about the Boondocks for example?
- I agree. Get Fuzzy is another example. I'll make the change in the article. Rick Norwood 15:17, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Since this is a stub, and in the absence of verifiable sources, references, citations seems to allow a certain degree of personal observation and guesses, I'm thinking it might be appropriate to revise just a little of the early section along these lines:
"The Yellow Kid, about a character who was officially given the Irish-sounding name 'Mickey Dugan,'is generally accepted as the first comic strip. [Creator R. F. Outcault may have been unwilling to draw stereotypical Irish children; in any event,]the 'Yellow Kid' was a racist picture of boy who appeared to be Asian, wearing a bright yellow shirt."
The opinion expressed in brackets is admittedly sheer speculation on my part, so I wouldn't insist on its retention . .

- Well your probably not wrong, but is there any source that can back this up?P0PP4B34R732 (talk) 17:12, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- I actually think he was supposed to be a stereotype of an Irish kid all along, it's just our modern interpretation that sees him as a stereotypical Asian kid. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 15:51, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Sunday strip
[edit]These are virtually synonymous articles: Sunday comics comprise comic strips conventionally printed on Sunday, in color. --Animalparty! (talk) 00:01, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
