Name of Encyclopedia

[edit]

In two places, you have the name as "Encyclopedia." According to The Rosicrucian Afterglow: the Life and Influence of Comenius by Clare Goodrick-Clarke, appearing as Chapter 7 of The Rosicrucian Enlightenment Revisited, Ralph White, ed., Lindisfarne Books, 1999, the title is Encyclopedia omnium scientiarum. Doubling

[edit]

The article Alstedius describes the same person, withe less, but some information, not yet included herein. As foreigner it is already diff. to superpose two articles into one in the German WP; so I do not much known, how to do this in the ENG WP. Someone interested to follow up? br --Commander-pirx (talk) 16:00, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What follows is a cited snippet that was on the Alstedius stub

ALSTEDIUS John Henry S.T.D. a divine, born in 1558 at Herborn in the County of Nassau, was professor of philosophy and theology in his native town, and subsequently at Weissemberg in Transylvania. He died at the latter place in 1638. Among his numerous works may be mentioned a treatise on the Millennium and a Biblical Encyclopedia in which he attempts to prove that the principles and materials of the arts and sciences should be sought for in the Scriptures. Alstedius was such an indefatigable writer that his was anagrammatized into sedulitas (activity) by some of the word distorters of that age.[1]
