Misc discussions
[edit]New Hikari (talk) 21:01, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
If this has nothing to do with Misc. Discussion, feel free to delete it. Um... I'm sort of wondering what happened to the future games section of the article? It just disappeared all of a sudden...
Aveyond06 (talk) 09:50, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Indeed, it disappeared, because it is only speculation, and we need facts. And I will delete any attempt to wrongly edit that section. Amanda Fitch hasn't even began developing.
New Hikari (talk) 17:11, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Wait, didn't Amanda say in the old forums that "Jack will probably be in AV4"? So, that means he'll appear in the game for a third time and it's not fan speculation since it's by the founding mother of Aveyond herself? (I'm sorry to post this a year later. And I managed to find a program to go back to the old forums and found the "Lets be honest here..." thread. So, I replaced the reference link with that and that post should show up on there to prove that it's true and not fan speculation)

"The article needs a lot of improvement. What's with the Vel and Jack? Stop giving own opinions. Put in facts. And why is it only AP has characters while Aveyond doesn't?"

"Telling things which actually happen at the end of the game is not good."
That's exactly what people do when talking about the story of games. You can't just go deleting the ending of a story on Wikipedia when the point of the page was to summarize the events. If it's a spoiler, mark it with spoiler tags, but don't go removing parts of the entry which are perfectly valid.
Quotes belong under WikiQuotes, rather than deleted outright as well. This game has quite the fanbase.
If the piece winds up having nothing which could serve as a spoiler it becomes little more than a fluffy advertisement, and then it'll get deleted.
I'll also point out again that the game is notable for having won several awards as evident from a google search and on the Amaranthia website. I'm not a major fan either way myself, but it's rather prominent in the RPG Maker community and turning a profit. Scribblette 21:27, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Aveyond06 - 3/10/07
I think this article should be named "Amaranth Games". Reasons :
-All the games are in the same topic. That would have named this article "Aveyond Series", but the fact that the Dark Prince I and II are also part of the Aveyond world is good enough to not put this title.
OR you also put the Dark Prince in this topic (once it's released of course), and in this case it's OK for "Aveyond Series"
Also I deleted some parts which spoil the fun of Ahrimans Prophecy. Telling things which actually happen at the end of the game is very bad. You have played Aveyond, but that doesn't mean you've already played Ahriman's Prophecy.

I deleted the 'speculation' part : actually again there's nothing but fanfics and forum chats to proof that, and as the Dark Priest was killed by Talia I see no reason he could be raised.
I also deleted some useless stuff about Talia who never got married that is wrong.
I deleted some other useless things, sich as an hypothetical link between the elements of Time and Dream
I won't be long
I know why the article is going to be deleted. I'd like to say to the newbies of Amaranthia that :
1 - there's NOTHING but fanfictions about the romance Rhen + Lars
2 - The story of Aveyond II is totally unknown
So don't post anything about that
And also I deleted some 'yup', 'huh'... Wikipedia is an ENCYCLOPEDIA.
UNderstood?
-Addie
- Ok I decided to contest the proposed deletion because the article does have reliable sources - they are either listed as sources at the bottom of the article or the info comes directly from the game. I've also deleted the "Quotes" section because I felt it just took up lots of space without actually being useful. It's interesting, yes, but does it tell us anything new? No. Also, could someone fix the pictures? For one, they should be shrunk down, and two, they should be integrated into the article to make it more organized. I would do it myself but I don't know how... Ae-chan 04:47, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Tactical RPGs...Nah
[edit]Hi there, I saw that the games were classed as TPRG. It's wrong. If Grimms Hatchery IS a TPG, Aveyond and Ahriman's Prophecy are not. 33% doesn't make the majority. It's not mainly TRPGs.
(The Battle for Wesnoth is for instance a good exemple of a TRPG)
About the spoiler thing, well telling things from AP in Aveyond is not OK. Especially when it's not explicit in AV and that it hapens really late in AP. Period.
And as I am truly high-thinking of me I don't think you are right. Period. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aveyond06 (talk • contribs) 21:48, August 23, 2007 (UTC).
Aveyond 2 Release, Aveyond 1 Work - DO NOT EDIT
[edit]I am now rewriting the entire article. I just can not stand preteens, and this is an encyclopedia, not a The Sunish magasine.
Things I will be improving :
- Removal of speculations (e.g. when it is told that Talia and Alicia can marry Devin and it gives birth to either Rhen or Dameon)
- Removal of Aveyond 1 Gameplay (useless)
- Removal of all informal terms (can't, shan't, aren't)
- Correction of tenses (all present)
- Adding of a AV1 character part
- Adding of more references
Also I ask everybody not to edit anything about Aveyond2 until the release. No speculations, noobish preteens.
Grimm's Hatchery however can still be edited.

Fair use rationale for Image:Grimmshatchery.jpg
[edit]Image:Grimmshatchery.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:37, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
quest finished in first hour of gameplay
[edit]how is the quest finished after u not a slave anymore?! you still have go to the academy and save all the druids and own ahriman.
Well you dont necessarily have to end the game by 'owning' Ahriman....you dont even need to fight him, you can take the easy way out and join the deamon guy or whatever his name was......who wants to be a queen anyway, lol jk?Ottawa4ever (talk) 00:34, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Irrelevant.
But I'll answer you.
You have to set free from kajiraeing, but then you are sent to the Academy of Veldarah. You then need to do a "good deed", and to raise your quest count by doing sidequests along with the main quest.
Yet once you get all your souls back you're not off to destroy Ahriman.
And yes, joining Ahriman is for fatty asses. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.40.225.228 (talk) 17:02, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- lazy, yet still satisfying completion to the game i find :) The game gives you choice to where you can end the game, immediately after when you are freed as a slave (since no real plot devlopments happen there) or by not fighting Ahrimen, its open ended Ottawa4ever (talk) 18:21, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
YDF
[edit]Since I promised someone *ahem* that I won't edit the page anymore, I was just wondering if someone is going to add the YDF section anytime soon. Cheers guys, and keep up the good work!! --Aislingyngaio (talk) 10:12, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Move to Aveyond series and Trimming down
[edit]I have moved this to Aveyond Series and trimmed down in accordance with the discussion held during the 2nd AfD discussion.
The "other games" mentioned in the initial Amaranth Games article (Gaea Fallen, Yummy Drink Factory) may be salveagable but I have not yet had time to work on these. I'd suggest creating a separate list article for any which meet the inclusion guidelines instead of adding them here, to avoid cluttering this with out of scope elements and ending up at the same place we were last time around. The original test is of course available either in this page's history, or at my sandbox page for the time being. MLauba (talk) 12:45, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Infoboxes
[edit]I removed the individual game's infoboxes. The article is about the series, which mandates the series' infobox. Each game's own infobox add little in way of information but detract a lot in the sense that they overload the layout, IMO. MLauba (talk) 06:48, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Expansion
[edit]Aveyond 3 was released today. More information about the game is needed if anyone can dig some up thanks Ottawa4ever (talk) 23:34, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Engine used
[edit]Most modern video game articles mention if the game used a particular engine or was programed from the ground up (with it's own engine). For example Gears of War, they use Unreal Engine 3, and so on. The Aveyond Series uses "RPG Maker XP" as it's engine, however "Ahriman's Profecy" uses RPG Maker 2003 wich was never released in the US, they probably used an illegal version, thus they offer the game for free. I know RPG Maker XP isn't as popular or as powerful as Unreal Engine 3 or ID Tech 4. But it's worth mentioning, what do you think?
I know some fans would be pissed off to know that "they payed for a game made in RPG Maker XP", but that's irrelevant. Amaranth Games lists the engine in their Game Kits section [1]. Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.129.112.135 (talk) 04:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
July 2009?
[edit]The release date of Aveyond: Gates of Night isn't exactly on July 2009. It could be late July, or early or mid-August. Why? We haven't even started beta-testing yet as of now (and the end of July is approaching fast). SD 03:04, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- ive changed it to `to be released` it would be better if there was a source confirming the relase date. have any?Ottawa4ever (talk) 15:40, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
