On the field at midnight?
[edit]What was happening on the field at the stroke of midnight? It seemed to me that the field goal attempt may have been in progress. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 05:35, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- Correct. The clock struck midnight just before Ohio St. missed the field goal. 98.169.55.40 (talk) 06:25, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- Actually no, need to correct myself. The kick took place in 2022, the TV delayed it until 2023 in certain locations due to latency. However, Georgia still had to kneel the ball one time to officially end the game, so the game did end in 2023. 98.169.55.40 (talk) 20:35, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- I was watching ESPN. But it is interesting that the game started in 2022 and ended in 2023.Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 05:28, 2 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm not sure to what extent this discussion is related to the changes on the article of the date to "December 31 - January 1" or the year to "2022 - 2023" so I'll leave this here just in case: it doesn't matter what date the game technically ended on, for the purposes of the "date" of the game we care only when it started. I have also left a message on the talk page of the three IP editors who made these changes, from what I can find. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 06:36, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
