The studio closed in 1992. From the early 1960s Krondahl taught Textile Art and Design in various schools in Sweden and abroad. Periodically from 1974 on, Krondahl worked in the U.S. He held a position as Textile Design Expert for UNIDO in Bandung, Indonesia in 1979 and 1980. In 1981 Krondahl became head of the Crafts Department, University of Gothenburg and in 1988 he was appointed Professor of Textile Art at the same institution.[5] In 1965 he was awarded the Lunning Prize, and in 2002 he received the Prince Eugen Medal.
