File:ChemSpider Logo.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by ChemConnector (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This logo only consists of simple shapes and their content license are CC-BY and CC-BY-SA. Does it mean this logo fails NFCC? Should we transfer it to Commons or delete this logo? Vitaium (talk) 02:00, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, we just change the license.
If someone initially thought a file was non-free, but we then realize it's free, perhaps because it's available under a free license (as in this case), it's too simple to be copyrighted, or the copyright expires, we don't need to delete it, just update the info. File:Running Away (Paul Haig album - cover art).jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by The Genesis (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Cover art (of less successful version) insufficiently supported by critical commentary. Not proven contextually significant to the whole song originally done by Sly and the Family Stone. George Ho (talk) 06:10, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly don't know where to post about this, sorry if the place or how to deal with it is wrong. These are images about paleontology uploaded to Turkish Wikipedia. These sources are just fandom wikis and are considered copyvio with no copyright guarantees. Especially for Dosya:Protungulatum_liferestoration.jpg, I know the source, non-free lisenced paper.[1] Moreover, this image does not show Protungulatum, but is simply a hypothetical reconstruction of an ancestral mammal, so it is completely false information. I don't know what to do with these images, since I can't put speedy deletion template to these page since different language page. Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 15:10, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. Delete it. Nightscream (talk) 16:26, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File:MasterEdithOlympian.JPG (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Dcw2003 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

The United States Olympic Committee is not a government agency, but a separate nonprofit entity (it's a QuaNGO). Unfortunately, that means that the employees are not acting on behalf of the United States Federal Government under the terms of Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 105 of the U.S. Code. That this is not a U.S. government work is contested at MCQ, where I first saw this, so I'm bringing it here for discussion at the proper venue so that we can attain consensus to label this file as non-free. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 16:48, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: I started the aforementioned discussion about this at MCQ because I was pretty sure the file was incorrectly licensed. While that discussion was going on, the uploader re-uploaded the same file as the non-free File:MasterEdithOlympicNewFile.JPG. There was no real need to do that since the licensing and description of the PD could've simply just been changed. At this point, there's no need for two identical files and this probably should be deleted unless there's some reason why it should be kept in favor of the non-free one. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:44, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unused file with questionable licensing. The source is a private website that doesn't appear to still have the image, but it's claimed to be a work of the US government. TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 17:54, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Photos associated with National Register of Historic Places nominations are typically taken by private individuals, as appears to be the case here, and are not PD as US government works. This particular photo was taken in 1999, so it's not old enough to be PD for any other reason. TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 18:13, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Source is alleged to be an unlinked YouTube video, so there's no evidence that this is actually the work of the U.S. government. TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 18:19, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prompted to come here after encountering this DR on Commons. The flag is undoubtedly copyrighted in the UK, but it looks like it may well be below c:COM:TOO USA, so I think we might be wise to relabel this as {{PD-ineligible-USonly}}. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 22:54, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
