Nominator's rationale: This was created by Greyshark who is not currently editing. He only populated it with Beersheba, perhaps because Saul is said to have built a fort there; but in the Bible, Beersheba is first mentioned in connection with Abraham. If the category is not deleted, City of David (archaeological site), Solomon's Temple and Millo would belong there, and perhaps Stepped Stone Structure, Large Stone Structure (Bronze Age Jerusalem) & the redirect Solomon's palace. – Fayenatic London 22:16, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom, plus the fact that there is great controversy surrounding the very historicity of this state. You'll find most modern scholars today saying that if there was a "king David" who reigned in Jerusalem, he was probably more like a chieftain on a hillfort. Archaeologists claim that the population of Jerusalem wouldn't have been large enough to sustain an army to control as much territory as various Hebrew Bible passages claim. Whether Tel Be'er Sheva is biblical Beersheba, let alone whether the Davidic dynasty controlled it, let alone whether it was established during that time, or earlier or later, are very much open questions. I don't think it's responsible to have a category like this about such an uncertain period, as it implies great certainty where there is little.   • Delete — WP:SMALLCAT mythological period of roughly 30 years that nobody seems to be able to locate within several hundred years. Therefore, unable to accurately populate with a year of establishment.

  • Delete as SMALLCAT, whose content is dubious. The rationale given by Nederlandse Leeuw is contrary to the practice of WP, which accepts Biblical texts for what they appear to be, not according to modern sceptical theories.     Not really. Religious texts are WP:PRIMARY sources that are never taken at face value, except for direct quotations and such. Religious texts have no special status over other mythical or legendary texts, and they are not considered much [more] credible just because lay people have faith in them. We still need WP:SECONDARY reliable sources (preferably scholarly ones) to critically analyse them. See also Template:Religious text primary.
