editMan, I miss you. I hope some day you'll have time again for Wikipedia. It's really rewarding when doing school homework; you learn from school, then edit Wikipedia to make it better. I did some research while you were gone and know all about blocking software, should you get another virus, and an unlimited flow of anonymous proxy servers; glee! But I heard that China stopped blocking Wikipedia, for the moment. So you got in trouble with the police? This should solve all your problems. Next race you have, video it and upload it on youtube, I'm dying to see. Well, talk to you when you get back! -- penubag (talk) 03:03, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

editWhen adding links to material on an external site, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:31, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

- I think the bigger issue is why you'd feel the need to lie on the internet about a completely trivial thing. That can't be good.►Chris NelsonHolla! 20:13, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Very well. First off, think what you like. It is not a lie, but hey, you've made up your own mind and that is a good thing. Don't be controlled by others. LIVE YOUR WAY. PS: You're lucky to reach me. I am retired (but visiting rarely).-- Vintei Talk 22:53, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

- Yeah, because I know when someone calls me, I have seizure that causes me to hit random keys all across a keyboard but none of the surrounding keys, despite the fact it'd be near impossible for a human elbow to do such a thing.►Chris NelsonHolla! 23:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Obelisk Render.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Obelisk Render.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 06:53, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Flybackboost.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Flybackboost.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 71.176.83.93 (talk) 02:44, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Notification of automated file description generation
editYour upload of File:Chersjaction possible fake.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:UGAC cast.jpg
editNote that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:40, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
The file File:Chersjaction possible fake.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No apparent use. Redundant to File:Chersjaction.JPG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 10:59, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
