Proposed deletion of Planes:Fire And Rescue

edit

Hello, Squeakmore. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Planes:Fire And Rescue, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:52, 1 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Squeakmore

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Squeakmore requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://collider.com/planes-fire-and-rescue-trailer/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. You claimed to be the copyright owner of File:Planes,Fire & Rescue.jpeg, but that seems improbable, and the file has been deleted. You really must take copyright seriously, or you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:57, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Disney pixar cars 3. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Speedy deletion nomination of Whitney High School Marching Band

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Whitney High School Marching Band requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Moved to userspace

edit

I moved the article for the KCA to User:Squeakmore/2015 Kids' Choice Awards. The problem is that it is way, way too early for an article at this point in time. We can't guarantee anything about the awards ceremony at this point in time. Yes, it's likely that it will be held, but we can't guarantee it. For example, despite the Olympics typically being held every 2 years, there were several points in time where they weren't held. (World War I and II, if you're curious.) The point of mentioning this is that we cannot predict if something major or minor might change something about the ceremony or even keep it from happening. Until we gain more coverage it's usually better to create an article in your userspace and work on it until plans for the ceremony become more concrete- which usually means that it gains more coverage in reliable sources independent of Nickelodeon. Thanks for uploading File:Hope at the Cleearwater Marine Aquarium.jpg. File permission problem with File:Ghost Adventures Aftershock.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ghost Adventures Aftershock.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:56, 28 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source/license for File:Dolphin-Tale-2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Dolphin-Tale-2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 03:47, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of IPod Touch (6th generation)

edit

The article IPod Touch (6th generation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Product doesn't exist yet and is merely a rumor (with no citations). Plenty of time to create an article if and when such a product is announced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. • I'm blocking you because ultimately you have a long, long history of creating articles based on rumors and speculation, as well as adding in rumors and speculation to various articles in instances where the rumors weren't covered enough to warrant being added. You've been warned about this enough to where you should know that things like this aren't considered appropriate for Wikipedia, as it is not a place to host various rumors and speculations about franchises, products, and the like. Even if there weren't warnings about this on your page, the fact that just about every article you've tried to create has been deleted due to it being based on rumors/speculation should have alerted you to the fact that it was time to stop creating things like this. I don't see where you've ever taken any of that into consideration, so this block is permanent. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:55, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry, I'm not going to unblock you. Like I said, you've been doing this for about a year now and you received multiple notifications that what you were doing was against Wikipedia policy... and you ignored them completely and kept doing everything that you were being told was against policy. I left you one message back in April and you ignored that as well. Your entire usertalk is full of people giving you notices that edits you made violated policy and you ignored them and kept doing the exact same thing. I have no reason to believe that you will now follow policy now that you've been officially blocked. Much of your editing revolved around adding in rumors, hearsay, and other things that would be considered WP:CRYSTAL violations at best (many thought that these were your attempts to add hoaxes to Wikipedia), so again- I will not unblock you. I just don't see where you've listened to anything before, let alone responded to any of these concerns directly, so I cannot believe that you will change your editing patterns because you have been blocked. It's a solid "no" from me as far as any unblock request goes. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:16, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have to say as a casual observer--you seem to be having extraordinary difficulty formatting an unblock request per the simple instructions above in the big blue box. Other editors (Squinge, in particular) have had to format your responses so that they reach the intended admins. What do you propose to contribute if unblocked, if you have trouble following basic directions? I'm also concerned about your grammar deficiencies. If you speak another language as your primary language, you should probably consider editing at that language's Wikipedia instead of here per WP:CIR#Some common types. • Cyphoidbomb, I've declined their unblock request again. Far too much of their previous editing revolved around adding crystal violations that were almost borderline hoaxes (and some considered them as much in some areas) and I believe that this is their first time actually responding to anyone posting on their page about their editing patterns. They've been adding speculation, rumors, and such to Wikipedia for about a year now, along with some copyright violations. It's actually amazing that they haven't been blocked prior to this, to be honest. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:16, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Plus to further hammer this home Squeakmore, you have created 10 pages since you've been here and six were deleted for various different reasons like notability, being too soon for an entry, and for being based on various rumors. 05:20, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

You are still not properly formatting your request so it will be correctly considered. The text you put should be placed where it says "your reason here". You are saying you won't do "it" again, but you also still are not addressing the admin's question as to what you will do if you are unblocked. 331dot (talk) 08:29, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Plus I really am not comfortable with the idea of this editor continuing to edit on Wikipedia, given that the bulk of their edits (as described above) were what caused them to get blocked in the first place. Until now they haven't responded to anyone warning them about these actions and they've been doing this for at least a year now. I can't see where they'll make any positive edits to Wikipedia even if they were blocked, since the majority of their pages they've created were deleted for various crystal ball reasons and a large majority of their edits otherwise had been reverted for the same reason. That they've kept reposting the unblock template with the claims that they'll "never do it again, promise" doesn't really give me any confidence that they've learned anything and if nobody has an issue with it, I'm tempted to just block them from editing their userpage. I think that regardless of how many times they're declined they'll keep reposting in the hopes of getting an admin that would unblock them. If by some chance this did happen (that they were unblocked) I think that it's only a matter of time before they're re-blocked for the same reasons because clearly they did not take any of this to heart in the nearly full year that they were editing on Wikipedia and continued to make the same type of policy violating edits despite several clear signs/warnings that this was not kosher. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:40, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Tokyogirl79, you should really stop declining unblock requests of a user whom you blocked yourself. Nevertheless, my question to Squeakmore: could you explain information from what kind of sources is considered appropriate for Wikipedia, and why? Max Semenik (talk) 10:11, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • I won't do it again, but I do have to note that this is the first time anyone has told me that I couldn't do this. (I don't mean to sound like I'm being petulant, just that this is the first time someone's said anything about it.) I would also like for you to get them to specifically state why they were blocked, why their actions were wrong, and to ask them why they didn't stop after multiple signs that these pages violated one guideline or another. I'm not trying to dog them, just that I don't see where they've taken anything to heart in the past or where they've suddenly learned their lesson now that they've been blocked. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:15, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
While I have doubts about this user's comprehension of Wikipedia policies, I don't think it would hurt to give them a second chance, given that this is their first block. That said, owing to the number of ignored warnings prior, I'd advocate for an immediate and indefinite reblock if any more articles were created that violated WP:CRYSTALBALL. I have gone out of my way to give you every chance I can to show that you understand the reasons why you were blocked, and that you will not make the same mistake again. Other administrators have been willing to give you a second chance to, if you could show that you understood. However, you haven't shown that understanding, and you have not answered questions that Max Semenik and I asked. I do understand what you meant when you wrote " i am sad that i cant make pages anymore", but I'm afraid that editors who don't understand what the problems are with their editing is likely to cause problems, even if they mean well. I suggest that you take a long break from Wikipedia (at lest six months, and really I think a couple of years might be better). After that, maybe you will have a better understanding. I have known editors who have had problems change a lot in that much time, so maybe you will. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:44, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I'm all for second chances, and you don't even need to apologise - to me, the best apologise is to prove that you understand how not to make the same mistake again, and the best way to do that is to answer my question which you haven't done yet. Max Semenik (talk) 07:31, 8 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Max Semenik Would you please give me some examples please so i can know what to say thanks. I understand that i will never make mistake again.

You don't need to keep making unblock requests; your recent request was put on hold. If you wish to make further comments, simply type them. I also don't think MaxSem will give you the answer that is being looked for. Simply answer his question as he requests; if you cannot give an answer, I suggest you review some Wikipedia guidelines before you give an answer. 331dot (talk) 02:52, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

- And if you can't give an answer to MaxSem, or don't understand what he wants, then you really are not ready to be collaborating on Wikipedia at all. If you can't/won't read the advice and comments of other admins , and continue refuse to read the instructions for making unblock requests, I or another admin will revoke your access to your talk page. Sorry, Squeakmore, but we really now have to bring this to a conclusion. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:18, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The whole point of asking the question is to see whether you understand well enough to answer the question. If Max (or anyone else) told you what to say, then it wouldn't show us whether you understand or not. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:00, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

(Squeakmore, don't post a new unblock request every time you want to answer someone's question here. You have an unblock request on hold and you don't need to keep making new ones. Just post your reply below the latest comments in plain text. Squinge (talk) 12:26, 11 January 2015 (UTC))Reply

MaxSem "reason=" I know that i am sad that i cant make anymore pages anymore because i know it was wrong that i was doing and i was not supposed to do it. The reason why that it is wrong to create a page for a film or product that dose not exist yet i don't know why i did that. So for the pages that i made i am really sorry that i created those pages. I just wish i could start over again. Can i please start over again?

You still haven't answered MaxSem's question, which is: "could you explain information from what kind of sources is considered appropriate for Wikipedia, and why?" The issue is not just the fact that you created pages for things that "don't exist yet", but the fact you did so without appropriate sources. You need to answer that question. 331dot (talk) 11:06, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

MaxSem "reason=" I did not mean to create the pages the last page that i created witch dose not exist yet was Dolphin Tale 3. The reason why i created Dolphin Tale 3 page is because i love the first two Dolphin Tale movies so thats why i created Dolphin Tale 3 page. And the other pages that i created was Frozen 2 and i know it dose not exist yet because Disney has not made the movie yet so thats why i created Frozen 2 page. I also created Ipod touch 6th generation page because i also really like ipod touches but the 6th generation dose not exist yet but apple might release the Ipod Touch 6th generation in March alongside is the Apple Watch. So there you have i kind of explain why i made these mistakes. And if i created a page and someone else all created that page i could of created a different page or i can edit the page.

Squeakmore, I hope you don't mind a comment from me. I don't mean to offend you at all but it doesn't seem to me that you even understand MaxSem's question, and you are just repeating the same things and completely missing the question he is actually asking. You also don't seem to understand how to do replies or unblock requests properly, despite people fixing them for you and explaining several times. On the whole, I think Kudpung has it right and you are simply too young just now to contribute to Wikipedia productively (I'm not asking for your age or any personal details - if you're underage you should not disclose any of that). Young people make a great contribution to Wikipedia, but it is a tough place to work and you really need a bit of maturity behind you or the experience is likely to be unpleasant. So my suggestion is that you go and spend your time doing other things you enjoy, like watching your favourite movies or whatever else you like to do, and come back to Wikipedia in a few years time when you're a bit older - it will still be here and there will still be lots of work to be done! SEVEN unblock requests are more than twice what we usualy accept. You have failed to provide answers to questions that may have helped considering to unblock you. We have given you enough chances. OK, I've fixed your unblock request one more time - you can't be put back on hold once a request has been closed, so you do actually need a new request this time. It is "{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}" for an unblock request, and for ordinary replies it's just plain text with no "reason=". As I say, I really do think you are just too young to understand all this right now (and again don't actually reveal your age). Anyway, I'll repeat the question you were asked and have still not answered in case you actually want to make an attempt at it before an admin comes along to review:

  • "Could you explain information from what kind of sources is considered appropriate for Wikipedia, and why?"
