- Thanks for contributing. I saw that one of your edits, to M1911 pistol, was reverted. That's because you didn't include a citation to a reliable source supporting the fact. Sources are of particular importance to additions of that kind because they indicate lasting significance, as opposed to something which is only noticed if you watch the TV show. Basically, there needs to have been some writer and publisher who thought it noteworthy to say that Magnum's weapon is a M1911. Such sources are very rarely provided which is perhaps why your contribution was reverted so quickly. On the other hand, articles like Thomas Magnum are held to a much lower standard, which is why the material is OK there. Hope that helps. Rezin (talk) 23:37, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- That does help, thanks Rezin! It makes perfect sense and I appreciate the explanation. I should not have been editing with my foundation account anyway :( Jkatz (WMF) (talk) 23:43, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- I probably wouldn't have given you such a thorough explanation if you hadn't been using a WMF account. ;) Rezin (talk) 01:33, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your nice observations. Still without any experience about how to use Wikipedia system: as soon as ready to handle it, will contact you frequently - Collections seem to be a very good mean to make researches. Congratulations Elisagwanor (talk) 19:24, 20 October 2015 (UTC) |

Hovercards
editHi Jon, thanks for the heads up, I didn't mean to cast shade on the first 7 votes at WP:VPR#Proposal: Enable Hovercards by default. Not everyone follows my approach, but it's not unusual either ... experienced closers on the English Wikipedia often pay more attention to the trend than the early voting. If there's anything I can help with, let me know. - Dank (push to talk) 01:03, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, and no worries, Dank! I just wanted to better understand, given that it seemed odd out of context. I really appreciate you bringing the conversation forward. Jkatz (WMF) (talk) 01:54, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
