A tag has been placed on Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. The sunder king 12:05, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Hkosa.logo.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hkosa.logo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:09, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Please stop posting material you have copied from another website. This is your second and final warning. You will be blocked from editing if you post another copyright violation. Sarah 13:35, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hangon tags, COI and role accounts

edit

Hey, please don't use the "hang on" tag, as you did here. The hang on tag is only used when you wish to appeal against an article being speedy deleted and by using that tag when the article hasn't been tagged for deleton, you are, in fact, placing it into the deletion category yourself. Also, I am concerned about your account name. You appear to be here for the purpose of creating an article on the Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Association and your username, which I presume stands for Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Association 21st EXCO (per this [1]), would suggest that this account is being used as a role account. Before you do anymore editing, please read WP:COI. It is highly inadvisable to edit articles on subjects which you have a conflict of interest. Please respond here on this page regarding the purpose of your account and whether it is being used by more than one person. Thanks, Sarah 18:01, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Association

edit

I have deleted the above article and I'm going to block your account because you have continued to post copyright violations, despite two previous warnings. I found this entire version of the article on various sections of this website. The website is licenced as "copyright rights reserved". This really needs to stop immediately. Wikipedia simply cannot accept material that you have not written yourself but have copied and pasted from elsewhere. If you want to explain why you have been doing this, I'm all ears. I am also going to ask another administrator to review this account. Sarah 22:22, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hkosa.logo.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hkosa.logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:01, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
