Rachel Ruelas page

edit

Hello Fullbert,

Thanks for reviewing the Rachel Ruelas page and I completely understand the tags that you put on the page.

A general problem that I ran into when researching was the mayor refusing the speak to the press over the past four months, so it was a bit challenging to put in additional viewpoints. I did add in a quote from Ruelas and a fellow city councilmember, whose her mother, so that is some other significant view points. I also reduced the weight on the budget problems and the October altercation and added in more neutral facts to help with the balance.

What are your thoughts on the edits, and do you think enough was done to remove the tags. If not, what kind of things should I look for to add or stuff to change within the page.

Thanks, -- Bpuddin (talk) 23:14, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Bpuddin Thanks for the follow-up. Are there any credible sources that can be added that support or explain the refusal to speak to the press or community about the issue? FULBERT (talk) 16:11, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@FULBERT Thanks for the reply. There are three news articles from two organizations that talk about her not speaking with the press about all of this. Its Yakima, so there a limited amount of media outlets that are available.
  • KIMA from June says "Ruelas gave up hope of restoring order and adjourned the meeting at 8:01 P.M. and left without speaking to any citizens or any media members."
  • Apple Valley News from August says "Apple Valley News Now's Emily Goodell's attempts to speak with Ruelas for further comment on the missing money, the recall petitions, or the ongoing lack of a budget have been unsuccessful. The mayor has not responded to inquiries made by phone, email, or in-person at Mabton City Hall, in council chambers after meetings or at the courthouse."
  • Finally, Apple Valley News from September say "Ruelas has avoided or dismissed all attempts by Apple Valley News Now's Emily Goodell since June to speak with her about the budget and other city issues."
I'll add in another sentence citing these sources and would that be enough? And I'll keep a watch on the news to see if she does speak to the press.
Thanks, Bpuddin (talk) 23:55, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Bpuddin Thank you for the focus. I see it is now current. Keep up with the good work! FULBERT (talk) 23:24, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:26, 23 October 2024 (UTC) Reply

@BGerdemann (WMF) I wish I could help, but I am not an Administrator on any Wikipedia so would likely not qualify for your study. Thank you. FULBERT (talk) 21:02, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Week 3/sp7930

edit

This week I edited an article Finance. Here

I included the diff. I also made changes to the article and here is the diff.

Today, I learned about quantum finance. It is a field where quantum mechanics meets finance! It’s all about applying quantum theory principles to improve financial modeling, risk assessment, and pricing. This approach could lead to smarter, more advanced financial tools, making it an exciting area with huge future potential.Sp7930 (talk) 19:06, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @FULBERT,
If I'm adding multiple sources to an article, do I need to show the edit history each time? How should I handle that? Sp7930 (talk) 19:32, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Sp7930 In general, for here you only need to show a diff for each article you edit. As each week will require two new (different) articles to be edited, this will likely not happen in this same way again. Also, what happened with the formatting of what you added here? Current with Week 3. FULBERT (talk) 13:39, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Week3/Myeon

edit

I edited the article Occupational safety and health, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Occupational_safety_and_health&wvprov=sticky-header. And here is the difference, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1254608817&oldid=1252596392&title=Occupational_safety_and_health. And for the contribution to the article: The addition I added enriches the article by addressing how AI-related changes, especially in high-skilled sectors, are not only reshaping tasks but are also affecting occupational mental health. By including the psychological effects and turnover risks associated with job insecurity due to AI, this content broadens the understanding of industry-specific occupational health challenges in today’s technological landscape.

From this week's work, I become more familiar with how to edit an article in Wikipedia, and this experience help me to understand some references more deeply.
