- I'm afraid I've also nominated User:Beireke1/sandbox for speedy deletion for the same reason – it is essentially taken directly from her website, the only substantial difference being the change from first person to third. As I'm sure you are now aware, everything you write here must be entirely in your own words. It's also unwise to follow the order in which facts are presented on a non-free external page – even if the exact form of words is slightly different, excessive close paraphrasing can give rise to a derivative work. Drawing ideas from several different sources is the best way to mitigate this. If you have further questions, do please ask – here on this page is fine. - Thanks for your comment Justlettersandnumbers. I deleted the content on my sandbox page that was found problematic in terms of copyright. I guess that this makes it possible to remove the deletion tag; so that my entire sandbox page won't be deleted because of problematic content that is not there anymore? I have one additional question/comment regarding what you said about deSingel: "if deSingel is using Wikipedia content on its pages, it obviously can't be used as a reference here". I understand that is problematic when it is the same content, but deSingel's pages have their own original content (photographs, downloadable programs in pdf, original audio interviews,...). This is the content that is used as a reference. The fact that they use Wikipedia content to display additional biographic info when it is available, doesn't make the reference to the page circular in this case, does it? - Well, perhaps not. But it certainly makes it a source to be used only with extreme caution. If by any chance you have some connection to that website you should avoid adding citations to it, as you would have a conflict of interest. You could in that case still make talk-page requests that it be added by other, independent, editors. Please keep in mind that Wikipedia doesn't tolerate promotion of any kind – even the promotion of good causes. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:35, 21 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment Justlettersandnumbers. I deleted the content on my sandbox page that was found problematic in terms of copyright. editHi there, Beireke1, and welcome to Women in Red. I'm glad you have become a member in connection with your Belgian coverage of dancers. It will be interesting to see if we can work together on these. I see you have already worked on a Dutch biography of the choreographer Bára Sigfúsdóttir. As she has recently been covered by the Belgian press, there should be no problem for including a biography in English too.
