- Poverty in the United States[1]
- Article Evaluation
- The content in this article is up to date and relevant to the topic of poverty in the US, and inherently deals with equity gaps and historically underrepresented groups. Poverty not only creates an equity gap between economic status, but also on the levels of race, gender, sexuality, education status, etc. This article is factual and neutral in the telling of this topic and provides a well-rounded telling of the issue through strong references and facts. The citations are implemented correctly and are sourced from a variety of reputable and scholarly locations. A large portion of the article is focused on the effects of race on poverty levels and, while this is important information to include, more information about the female and LGBTQ populations needs to be added to greatly increase the balance and informational status of the article.

- Article Evaluation
- This article covers a variety of topics on a very surface level leading to the article feeling like a lot of not substantial information. The information that is provided is also not very concise which adds to the great length of the article. Where this article would benefit from a gendered perspective is in the current research section, namely the poverty and healthcare sections, where the intersection of gender and sexuality play a large role. Social stigma is a large part of the perpetuation of poverty in these communities that the strengthening of this article would be beneficial to properly informing the public on its wide reach.
