Rory Ellis is an Australian Alternative Country and Blues artist. Guitar and Vocals are his tools of trade with an emphasis on the story behind every song. After working in Melbourne pubs as a bouncer and on building sites throughout the 1980's, doing various other labouring jobs, he started writing and performing with local blues/roots outfits in 1989 and into the early to mid 1990's (Electric Mud, Lonewolf, Lenny Matt. After a short stint at the Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda in 1998, he was inspired by the peoples life stories there, and started writing songs not only of their lives but his own encounters. In 1998 he and decided to go solo, performing at venues and major festivals in Australia and internationally since. He has also opened for Richie Havens, Eric Bibb among others and has performed alongside some the best roots performers in the world. Rory has 6 highly media acclaimed albums to date. Ride (2000), Road Of The Braver Man (2003), The Rushes (2005), Two Feathers (2008), Perfectly Damaged (2010) and Twisted Willow (2012). The latest album Twisted Willow received a 4 star review in March 2013 in the Age newspaper.
